Well it's there
Tldr: its expensive for the quality, but compared to other options it's the bestdeal in Artesia. Sorry. There is a serious lack of rentals at the $1k to $1.5k range and all your decent options are here. Gym is good, pool is good, landscaping excellent. Very Dog and Cat friendly. Appliances cheap AF, so cheap I had never heard of the brand. You will hear your neighbors doing their business the walls are so thin. Get an upstairs apartment. Maintenance is....well they try. Management is... professional, but will always try a cheaper alternative that they know won't work out because corporate are skinflints. Water here is harder than an inappropriate metaphor, you will need a softening system. Phase 3 apartments don't have hookups for them. Go ahead and splurge on a garage. It HAILS here. Often. Seriously your car will be damaged.
Context::
Overall Renting in Artesia is an abysmal proposition whose only bright point is that you will always pay too much for something unless you know someone, real well. Housing in general is sky high for middle of no where New Mexico, 3 hours from an interstate. 3 loooooooong hours.
High housing costs is due to 3 factors
Lots of rich people, due to a local oil company with crazy profit sharing going public. They drove up prices buying up properties to rent to 2 groups of people
the oil workers and to federal law enforcement at FLETC
FLETC is the federal law enforcement training center and they have a monthly stipend for rent that seriously drives up rent and more importantly makes a large chunk of rental properties into $2k prefurnished affairs.
