Great experience

Toured an apartment last week and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The apartment was really nice. Look forward to possibly renting with them when my lease is up.

Do NOT live here.

The management system here has 0 respect for their tenants and unethically push all their management failures on their maintenance team since they're "disposable". My roommate and I have been living here for a year now and have reported numerous maintenance requests. Management takes 0 accountability, have no follow up action plans, and made the decision to implement a portable AC unit that quadrupled our electricity bill and won't offer to pay the difference for their mistakes. Additionally, my... roommate was met with a severe accident that required normal livable conditions which includes proper HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & AC) and management did NOTHING to resolve any issues. Management brings the crew to blow leaves at 6AM every week while everyone is sleeping - this place is incredible LOUD to live in. Management team never tries to accommodate for anyone who can't make requests within working hours which means anytime there's an issue, you have to take a day off work. Last & most importantly, their main gate is always open 90% of the time because it frequently gets jammed. This "gated community" is not gated in any way, shape or form. Save your money and find an alternate place no matter the price. Any extra price you pay in a different location, will benefit you with better customer service.

More Good Than Bad...

I have lived at Green Leaf at the Marina for a year and overall I've enjoyed the experience. The office and maintenance staff are very kind. I am not from this area and moved here without knowing anything about it. They have always been very approachable and prompt in responding to maintenance requests.

The rent here is a bit high for the area because the complex is very close to the Sparks Marina, it is literally across the street from the Marina itself, which is great if you enjoy the...
outdoors, or just want to be able to take a walk or run in a nice area. There is no way you could live this close to the water in other States for even triple the price, so if that is important to you, you should consider this complex.

That being said, be aware that the actual apartments are old. My kitchen is so small, I call it my pocket kitchen. The appliances are very loud, I really try not to run the dishwasher and the washer/dryer at the same time because of all of the noise and out of courtesy to my neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, you will hear them... especially when they are going upstairs or taking a shower. The highlight of my morning is listening to my upstairs neighbor clear his throat for twenty minutes at 6 a.m. (Sarcasm implied) but I suppose a fair bit of noise is to be expected in apartments.

I didn't expect to have such a dirty, thin carpet throughout the place. I swear they must have spent all of 50 cents on it. Here's hoping they don't try to charge me for all the stains, I didn't cause when I move out.

It sounds funny, but my favorite part about living here is actually the outside. There is a small play yard for children in the center of the complex, next to a basketball court. There are cute, stone picnic tables next to the office and I like to sit out there and read.

I find the residents here to be friendly and courteous, there will always be some people who don't pick up after their pet or are a bit loud at times, but that's pretty normal. I can say, that I wish the complex wasn't gated. The gate is prehistoric, so if you have guests that haven't been here before, they probably won't be able to figure it out. I really don't see the point of having a gate since it's open most of the time, except of course, when you expect it to be. One last thing, if you use the bus, this is excellent place for you. There is a bus stop right outside the complex. You are set!
