4540 Center Blvd Apartments

RENT:
The rent is on the higher side for an apartment on Center Boulevard, but you also get a 24-hour doorman and great views. There is laundry in the building (though it's $2.25 per load).

STAFF:
Honestly, the leasing staff are not the easiest to work with, but once you move in, the building staff are amazing. The doormen will learn everything about you very quickly and maintenance orders are completed almost instantly.

NEIGHBORHOOD:
The restaurants on the block are diverse but a little... more expensive than most places. But if you want something cheaper all you have to do is walk up to Vernon Boulevard. Food Cellar and Duane Reade are right up the block also.

There is zero shopping around here but that may change soon as the library and more restaurants start to pop up.

There are a couple of small gyms, but you can join the gym across the street at 4545 Center Boulevard for $50 a month per person -- it's not that bad when you compare to other gym prices but no showers or anything.

There is street parking but that's hard to get usually. There's a monthly-rate garage but there's a wait-list. Probably best to avoid having a car unless you don't mind fighting for street parking.

PETS:
There is a 50-pound weight limit for dogs but that's clearly not strictly enforced. We've seen German Shepards and other large breads in the building who are clearly 100lbs. It's very dog friendly - multiple dogs parks in walking distance (two across the street and one on the water in Gantry Park), but no dogs in the park unfortunately.

APPROVAL:
Do not let these people push you around with money. If they want 3x the security deposit for a less-than-good reason, ask for 2 months. If they give you a deadline that you can't make, tell them you need a few more days. We've lived in this apartment building for 3 years and in the neighborhood for 5. TFCornerstone is excellent. Whenever something breaks in the apartment maintenance is there usually within an hour 95% of the time. The doormen are wonderful and really take the building to the next level. We love living here. It's a beautiful area and a great building.
