How Is This Rating Determined?

Nice Location...Very Questionable Management

This is a great spot along the Nyack riverfront, about a 10 minute walk to Broadway and Main. The apartments (mostly 1 BR, with a few 2 BR) are reasonably priced and the monthly fees are not out of hand. There are pretty good amenities; riverside pool, boat dock (currently unavailable due to disrepair), nice common areas.

However, the co-op board and management team make very questionable decisions about use of amenities. They spent many thousands of dollars upgrading to a heated pool system...
, but refuse to allow it to be used to bring the water to a comfortable temperature. And the pool is only open 7 days a week in July and August, missing out on great weather days that are perfect for heated-pool use. Lastly, if a few drops of rain fall or are forecast for that day, they hastily close the pool. On balance, they seem to be very much 'penny-wise and pound foolish'. It is a frustrating situation for residents of this otherwise fine property.
