Horrible Apartment -DO NOT RENT HERE
I moved into Hiawatha Heights yesterday (July 5, 2021) and already, I’ve been having several complaints for the Property Manager and several concerns. I walked into my new apartment with appliances that were NOT move-in ready. The AC panels that prevent hot air, bugs, etc. from coming in the unit we’re broken, left open and the AC wasn’t even securely drilled in place and hot air from outside was blowing into my unit. I had to show the Leasing Agent where the holes for the nails were supposed to... be installed and he came with office tape to temporarily fix the issue. I also walked into a NEW apartment with a toilet that was broken (water was off and flapper was broken). Today, I have an active leak coming from the roof into my apartment in my bathroom. I’ve already called the only person in the office and I get the same, nonchalant responses like, “I’ll see what I can do” “I only have 1 maintenance guy working today” “It’s because we’ve been really busy.” When I asked for a direct number for the Property Manager, I was told “There isn’t one, you have to call the office.” When I informed the Leasing Agent about my broken AC panels he responded “Yea, I noticed that, it will take about a week for new ones to come in.” … The staff here blatantly admit to issues in the unit they are aware if, yet refrain from informing tenants about apartments they expect you to pay for, despite them being a disaster! I have several years of experience working for residential complexes and this unit should have not passed inspection and keys should not have been issued fir a new move-in!
There is no staff here. There’s one man working in the office. The Property Manager seems unconcerned about resident concerns and requests. This property is not running efficiently. DO NOT RENT HERE.
