once affordable
When I first arrived at Gahanna, these apts were the best of what was available. I don't regret choosing them, however, as the years pass, my goodwill towards this place decreases. The apartments are outdated, the walls are quite thin. I hear children crying at all hours. Water and gas are based on the building, not just yours. The electricity is insanely high, ~$375/mo in the summer. The ceilings occasionally leak water (~4x a year) when it rains cats and dogs, as do the windows. The AC units... need maintenance every 3 months or so (not just the filter). The apts are quite nicely placed geographically, but it can be horrible to get out of the parking lot onto Johnstown certain hours of the day. We've dealt with bedbugs in the apt after we've moved into a new bedroom (from villa nova apts, NOT another apt complex), and the mgmt blamed us for the bedbugs even though we moved from another of their apts where they could verify there were no bebugs. The rent is increasing every year by the max allowed amt. There are often police/emergency services coming and going at all times, and our cars have been broken into many times. It used to be a great place, if a bit old; but since Covid, there have been fewer and fewer reasons to stay.
