Excellent Management and Maintenance
I am so glad that I found Artisan Apartments when I moved to Portland. Kelly, Josie, and Courtney do a wonderful job in addressing any questions or concerns I have. They are prompt in their responses, kind, and make me feel heard and valued as a resident. I would highly recommend checking out these apartments if you are looking for a luxury-feeling apartment home (for a fair price) that is managed by a reliable team of professionals.

Love The New Improvements!!
I just renewed my lease here for another year because I love it so much! Since we got new managers (i think like last summer?) they've done a lot around the building to make it nicer. They improved the bike room door, built some shelving in the mail room for packages, fixed the call box volume, and I see our maintenance guy spot cleaning the hallway carpets pretty often. The maintenance guy is super quick with work orders too, I had an issue with my garbage disposal and he fixed the same day I... called about it. I really love having a maintenance guy at the property and it's nice that it's always the same guy so he remembers my name and I recognize him when I see him around. The ladies in the office are super sweet too. I appreciate how honest and upfront they are. Looking forward to another year here!

Nice units, bad management.
I have lived in the Artisan building for a year and a half now. In that time, we've had 6 different managers across two companies. Each round comes with a little improvement at first with lots of promises ultimately left unfulfilled. In spite of regular requests, the building is not cleaned regularly. Stained carpets and dirty floors throughout. The trash room is nauseating and has so much stuff that it blocks the bins. You have to wade through mystery goop to get to the dumpster. Worst of all,... our utility bills have doubled in the past few months ($180 for a studio apartment). It took months of pushing just to get some investigation into the issues, which have still yielded few results/changes. They finally addressed the longstanding issue with break-ins to the secure bike room (it took a year to get any results... after a dozen bikes stolen). The rampant package thefts have been reduced since new front door codes were issued. But like everything, this was treated with no urgency and took many months to implement. Theft is still a slight issue, in part because the Luxer package locker system is poorly managed and left full of old packages. Since the commercial tenants moved in, our utilities have increased 2x. Management has dragged their feet and still never fully reimbursed us for the out of control costs. I get that the property managers are human, and they're doing what they can with the resources available, but it's clear that the owner does not value its tenants... just its bottom line. I strongly suggest renting elsewhere.

Poorly managed and maintained
It often takes weeks to get a reply from management. It takes months for repairs to be completed. It is a new building yet things continually break down. The elevator and front entrance have malfunctioned several times. The garbage area is often overflowing. They are on their second property management company with staff being replaced continually. And the turnover rate of tenants is very high. I personally know of 5 units that have vacated since I have lived here. Steer clear of this building.

We took some time to discuss... this with our team, and we are happy to report that the waste receptacles are now being monitored more closely, and our team has noticed a significant improvement in this area. We understand your concerns regarding the elevator and front entrance, and once our team was made aware of these issues, they promptly scheduled services for them to be repaired. While our team does regularly inspect the communities to ensure nothing is amiss, we do encourage our residents to notify our team at the leasing center should they ever notice any problems so our team can address them as quickly as possible.
We are very sorry to hear that any of your maintenance requests have taken longer to address than we would have hoped. While our team does everything they can to promptly and efficiently complete any necessary repairs, there are times when some repairs take longer than expected if ordering parts is required. If there are any ongoing issues you are experiencing, please don't hesitate to put in a service request using your online resident portal which can be found on your community website at www.artisanportland.com as this is typically the fastest way to notify our maintenance team.
