7 Years of Problems
I want to start off by saying that the management means well and do their best, and the staff are excellent at fixing anything that needs to be done.
On the other hand, for the price, the apartments are built cheaply & not insulated well, meaning that they are freezing in the winter and simmering in summer. The layout is cramped. The kitchen is so tiny that my husband and I have to "reserve" time to use the kitchen because only one person can fit in it at a time.
Problems with the water... pipes. The water is frequently turned off at least once a month or so, & the management tries to let residents know, and sometimes it’s off for more than an hour. Also, it randomly shuts off without warning. Once we had a pipe break and the entire first floor was flooded with about 2 inches of water & it was rushing like a river. Good thing for renters' insurance!
However, the worst thing is the high crime. I've had my car parked in the outside parking area, & twice the window has been shattered in order to break in and steal...well nothing. It's an old beater that clearly doesn't even have a radio. Maybe it's just random violence?
My husband's car had its catalytic converter stolen. My bike was stolen twice, even though it was locked inside the porch right next to our front door.
Amazon and other packages are constantly being stolen.
Graffiti everywhere. Even on the rocks of the beautiful nature spot by the apartments. No effort to clean it up. Trash everywhere. I pick it up myself around the premises and it's just back in a couple of days. A lot of dog owners don't pick up their pets' poop.
The management should lower the prices or try harder to lower crime by building a locked fence or getting good security cameras, although the one they have was aimed at my car one of the times the window was smashed, can't identify anyone, of course.
Update: Our apartment just flooded again, this time from the top of the floor to the bottom. It’s a river. Almost everything touching the ground floor is ruined. I don’t even know how to get them appraised or what to do. They have drilled all sorts of holes in the walls and have several dryers that are so loud I can’t get any work done, and they have to rip out the carpets and replace the actual walls, all while we are living here.
“This is a nightmare all the time.” Said one of the facilities workers, 4/23/22.
We're trying to find another place to live, but in this economy, it's nearly impossible.
