Do NOT rent at Hygge unless you’re okay with constant maintenance failures, a complete lack of security, and an unresponsive management team that only acknowledges issues when you relentlessly chase them down. After living here for over two years, my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. The building is poorly maintained, security is nonexistent, and management is unresponsive unless you badger them with emails for weeks.
Security is a major issue—anyone can walk into the building,... especially when the coffee shop downstairs is open, making it easy for packages to get stolen. The bike room requires a fob for access, yet bikes (or parts of them) are routinely stolen, suggesting non-tenants somehow have access.
The building’s only elevator broke down in January 2024, and it took six months to be repaired. Management initially refused to offer rent credits, but as months dragged on, they selectively issued credits to some tenants.
Communication from management is abysmal. When I moved in, I reserved parking for my moving truck, but residents ignored the signs, and management was nowhere to be found. The key I was given didn’t open the front door, I couldn’t reserve the elevator, and my moving truck didn’t fit in the garage. No one answered calls or emails, leaving me to deal with the nightmare on my own.
