Do not reccomend living here!!
Office people have been a problem since I’ve lived here. Nothing but problems. They always have an attitude and are not very accommodating. Can’t get the regular or 24 hour maintenance people to come out. Our fridge broke and for two days we tried to get a hold of someone to fix it after we were told two separate times that someone would come to fix it. No one did. The apartment needs to be updated which I knew before moving in. However, I did not know this would mean that the place would be in... poor condition and falling apart. Leaky kitchen sink upon moving in, in addition to door lock breaking and needing to be replaced, mailbox door broke and needed to be replaced, cabinets falling off the hinges, the phone that lets people in the main door broke twice and still needs to be fixed, faulty wiring in one of the over head lights, you name it- all within a few months of moving in. The pool is over chlorinated and gave my boyfriend chlorine poisoning. The power in our unit goes out all the time even when there is no storms. It’s truly a mess. I really don’t recommend living here as there have been many many problems for me for over a year that I’ve been here. Location is nice but that’s about it. I’ve lived in crappier, cheaper apartments that were in better condition and taken care of better.

Clean, Quiet, and Safe, but Outdated
I've been living here for almost 6 years now. It's a great community, conveniently located, and a good value for the size in this area.
Positives: The living and bed room are spacious for an apartment. I can comfortable fit a couch, TV, and L-shaped computer desk into the living room and have a queen bed, night stand, wide dresser and tall dresser in the bedroom with a 2nd wide dresser in the back of the walk-in closet. The dining area has enough room for a 4-person table. It is also... remarkable quiet for being right on Rte. 30. My Neighbors (building 10) are friendly and more than willing to help each other. Maintenance generally responds quickly to any requests.
Negatives: The fixtures are outdated and/or cheap. My toilet has rocked since the day I moved in and has some sort of low-flow device installed; I often have to flush 2 or 3 times. The small wall A/C in the dining area does not adequately cool the living room unless you stick a fan in front of it blowing that way and has trouble keeping up with the heat of direct southern exposure in the summer. I highly recommend getting blackout curtains for every window. The heating thermostats look like they haven't been replaced since the place was built and do not keep the apartment at a consistent temperature during the winter. I had to install my own digital programmable ones and it made a world of difference both in comfort and energy savings. Speaking of electric, the PECO account for every unit is in the landlord's name so whenever there is a outage you cannot directly report it or get updates about it, and you pay a $5-10 service fee every month for that.

You decide...
I lived in Norwood for 3 years (2015-2018) and here’s what I experienced during my residency... The hot water heater, circuit breaker and refrigerator all broke within months of each other. I actually reported an issue with the fridge weeks before it died and they didn’t replace it which resulted in me losing the newly purchased groceries which were never reimbursed. I lived across the hall from a hoarder who had such a foul odor coming from the apartment that I couldn’t sit in my living room... without getting nauseous. What I had to do to get that resolved was contact the Downingtown Code Enforcement since our calls to the leasing office and corporate got us nowhere. My rent also continued to increase close to $50 a month each year even though I always paid on time and graciously dealt with all of those issues. The washers and dryers were broken or eating our money more often that I can count. You don’t get reimbursed for that, at least I haven’t even after requesting it in writing. FYI it’s $1.50 per load. Last but not least, I was told when I moved into Norwood that I could transfer to a larger apartment anytime after 6 months of residency. I chose to take advantage of that opportunity after our son was born 2 years later. However, this was not a “transfer” at all. I found that out when we decided to purchase a home and we had to break our lease. They told me I was a new tenant and would need to pay a 2 months rent penalty as opposed to 1 month for residents greater than 1 year. So much for good tenants I suppose. With all that being said, no, I would not recommend Norwood... only to my worst enemy.

BEST In Living For 12 Years !
I moved into Norwood house apartments in 2004 with my son and don't plan to leave! I've called this my home for nearly 12 years for a reason! Where to start? I feel in love with the location right away. The staff is wonderful and always ask if I need anything. The maintaince workers are top notch and always find a fix for my problem .The pool is beautiful and perfect for a hot summer day, or for when I have my niece and nephew over. When I'm lounging at home I feel safe! My apartment is very... cozy , but the overall quality of living is superb and unmatched to anywhere else that I have lived. Sometimes I just enjoy walking around the complex , which is filled with very friendly neighbors! My son and I have never felt safer or more at home here at Norwood.
