You pay a lot to be treated awful

We paid a lot to live here FOR ONLY ONE YEAR and we STILL are after moving out. When we moved in, it was obvious someone with children lived there before. We were constantly finding toys under stoves, sink, refrigerator, etc. The place was hardly clean when we moved in, and then when we moved out, it looked way better. And yet when it was time to get my deposit back, I was getting charged for the awful mildew carpet I was given.

Pros
1. We live in the south townhouses. Always parking...
available.
2. Within walking distance to train station, Wawa, Acme, and other restaurants and shopping.
3. Safe area, day and night.
4. Maintenance is great.

Cons
1. The lease process was a disaster. I constantly had to call to remind them to process it and it took two weeks of them saying they forgot, and then they wanted to rush it at the last second and said they were “doing me a favor.” Melissa asked me to do some illegal things and was EXTREMELY rude. If you have to deal with her, RUN AWAY. She is the #1 complaint of all residents and I honestly do not know how she still works there. She treats you like garbage and then DEMANDS you thank you for it.
2. The ceiling was not high enough to fit a queen size bed. So if you’re moving into the south townhomes, you’ll have to get a bed that can fold in half easily or order one that comes in a bed in a box. Don’t even think of trying to get a box spring up the stairs unless it’s a twin.
3. They said the oil tank would be filled. It wasn’t. Had to call and remind them. Shocking. Then they removed the oil tank and the apartment smelled for weeks in the summer.
4. Be prepared to steam your carpets before moving your furniture in! Mildew galore.
5. I’m not sure how safe it is to breathe the air in the basement. We bought respirator masks to wear down there because it felt so awful to breathe down there. When it rains expect moisture. Don’t keep your stuff against the wall and put it in air tight containers and get a dehumidifier.
6. Even talking to neighbors who’ve lived here for 20 years, the management (mostly Melissa) treats everyone like a piece of dirt beneath her shoes. Avoid if you have blood pressure issues.
7. The AC barely works and is expensive. Better to get a window unit.
8. Small bathrooms, small kitchen.
9. The troll at the pool takes her job very seriously and no matter how much you prove you live there will make your life hell to let you in. You have to pay for guests to swim.

Fair Apartments - Worst Management

Please note you are dealing with a bunch of unprofessional liars and cheats who are at the managing the Paoli Place Apartments.

I have had lots of bitter experiences right from the movement i moved in. I was told that the apartment will be ready on the agreed date, we reached there and found out that we were handed over a apartment which had broken toilet, dirty sofa and which had smoke smell all over the apartment. On escalating we were moved to another apartment in the same community. I also...
had to extend the hotel booking for three days for which i received no reimbursement.

The manager is very manipulative and tried to charge me 50 $ for a replacement car badge. The worst part is manager will act as if we are not in the room when we go to speak to the management and will force us to talk to her junior who has no authority to take any decisions. Which is really frustrating.

Have also had a horrible and a stressful exit.
- Professional Liars - We wanted to extend our stay and hence had asked if the apartment had been rented out for which we were told that it is still available in the market, On submitting the extension notice, 15 mins later manager told that it is rented out. We were feeling cheated how this can happen and cannot be managed since the new lease had not been signed.
- Manager agreed initially to adjust the deposit amount as the rent since we were going to move out of country and i was going to close the bank account. After 1 week manager came back threatening that Monday is court filing day, we will need payment before or on that day to avoid court filing.
- Had followed up multiple times in email and also called the office on when the refund will be sent back, but there was absolutely no response.

Regarding the apartments - the apartment are spacious, but are infested with bugs and roaches. Also the cooking exhaust from the apartment below comes in the house. Had raised multiple requests for the roaches but it was not addressed at all.

Too much expensive, not worth to rent an apartment here

These apartments are too old, everything here is very old including washer, dryer, stove. This is not even a gated community not sure why the prices here are too high. Its better to stay 10 mins away and pay lesser than this and get more amenities than renting an apartment in this community.

Not at all worth for the rent you pay here.

Paoli place

A great place to live. When we moved in everything was completely updated and some of the appliances were even brand new. The area is safe and clean. Parking is convenient. There is a pool in the development and it's within easy walking or driving distance of many stores and restaurants. Everyone here is friendly and I can see us staying here for a long time.
