*WARNING*I made the mistake so you wont have to! *WARNING*
The A/C doesn’t work!! We complain about it, its back on...for a few hours then out again. At this time its late and theres no one to complain to. So we have to stay up in a room with 3 loud fans, and a cranky baby! It is 3:00 on a Saturday morning right now and its hot and muggy in this apartment what can we do? Nothing! No one will be here until Monday! And no window units allowed! So yes, you will pay $1,000 and suffer through the summer. Money well spent huh?
The bugs!! Like I said earlier... , when we first got here, it was cold...no bugs. Now that its warm, theres spiders and millipedes or centipedes or whatever “pedes” they are all over the apartment, and the flies...they pretty much run this place!
The maintenance men!! Really nice guys! They start construction and drilling and banging at 8am!! Yes I understand they have a job to do but wow!! People are still sleeping at that time...ESPECIALLY NEW PARENTS!!!
The fire alarms!! The wiring is faulty or SOMETHING but the fire alarms go off at the most random times throughout the entire building. And its not quiet! Its could be 2pm or 3am dont matter! And the fire company has to rush here to shut it off! So NEW PARENTS...who just get there baby to sleep! Have to wait it out...fire alarms blaring and new born baby screaming at the top of their little lungs! Sounds comfortable huh?
The front door!! You know, the one you need to be “buzzed in” to gain access. You dont need to be buzzed in. Half the time you can either pull the door open or use your fingernail to get in. Sounds safe huh?
The smell! The hallways stink...ew!
The mailboxes!! We all want our mail to be safe huh? No, not here. You get your own mailbox, sounds good right? Wrong, when you put “your key” into “your mailbox” THE ENTIRE LOCK MECHANISM TURNS. Anyone can gain access to your mail! And the mail boxes aren’t behind those “secured buzzed entry” doors they’re right in the lobby...you know so the mailman can access them...understandable! But lets get some real locks on them at least!

RUN
This place is pretty bad all in all. From the mice, to the never ending fire alarms all hours of the morning. Sometimes the hot water will vanish for an hour or so, or the water turns off completely. The A/C is never working so My husband and I uses 3 fans in our room with our newborn baby. Sounds like it’ll help during a hot summer day, but unfortunately the power goes out too. The main doors that are supposed to be accessible only by residents with a key can easily be opened with any key on... your keychain. I do not feel safe at all. To top it all off, when we first moved in we were told we needed parking permits to park out back. The landlord says she can give us two since we had to cars. She never got around to giving it to us. I figured we didn’t need them during the winter, and people actually use them during the summer. Who knows. Anyways my husbands car gets towed 4am in the morning. Our landlord informs us its because there wasn’t a permit on the car. Even though she knows she didn’t give us one, she made it seem as though it was our fault for not returning to her and begging her for a permit. So while preparing for a life with a newborn and the expenses, we had to dish out $300 which we didn’t have to just blow like that. I asked if we can be reimbursed since we were never given the permits, but she continues to point fingers saying its our fault for not getting them. And that she thought we didn’t need them because we park out front majority of the time. If you can, just look elsewhere. Because if my husband and I could end our lease early and get out of here we would! BEWARE!

Different than the others
I've been a tenant here for almost 3 years. I love that the utilities are included in the rent. My cats were welcomed with no monthly pet fee! If this weren't a 4-story building, dogs would probably be allowed, but there's no getting a puppy down the steps or elevator without accidents happening, right? Maintenance is especially great right now. TJ does great work and I never have the same issue again. Lynne, the property manager, makes it a point to get to know the tenants. She is always... trying to improve life in Atrium to the best of her abilities. Drive by during any holiday and see the way she decorates the front windows and the lobby! I almost did Christmas on the one of the first 2 floors as the trees she put up were spectacular! She really listens to my concerns when I have any and rectifies them quickly if not immediately. When things happen within the building (such as a power failure), she is on site to handle the issues, sometimes until the wee hours of the morning even if she was here all day. She is really available during regular business hours, usually stays later, and takes appointments for the weekends that are more convenient to us working stiffs that can't get to the office before 7pm. My apartment is beautiful with an upgraded kitchen and a balcony. I've had the good fortune of making friends in the building and that makes this place not just a rental, but my home. I will be renewing my lease again in the coming months happily. Check the place out to see why it is better than other apartment complexes! You won't be disappointed.
