Not a bad place to live considering
My apartment was spacious, and I had no complaints about my neighbors. However, the building itself is quite old, which comes with some drawbacks.
In winter, the heating is extreme; I had to use window fans in every room just to sleep comfortably we don’t control the heat and In the summer, you’re charged $300 for each air conditioning unit, which isn’t terrible, but it adds up.
Another inconvenience is the random water shut-offs due to ongoing pipe work, which can be frustrating. There’s... also a significant issue with large water bugs that can be off-putting. The laundry facility is acceptable, though it can vary depending on the time of day.
On the plus side, the property is kept clean by a daily cleaning service, and maintenance does their best to handle the frequent issues. However, parking is a major headache. I’ve been towed twice for parking both on the street and in the limited back lot, which is first-come, first-served. Be prepared for long walks back to your apartment at night, especially in bad weather it’s frustrating because of the trees that fall on cars on the street.
The community is mostly quiet, but summer can bring more noise, with people grilling on fire escapes and setting off alarms. The pool area is maintained reasonably well.
Management has changed since I leased; Jackie and Marche’ were great, but the new manager, Shareeka, is doing her best to address concerns given the circumstances. While I didn’t interact much with the other leasing person , overall, for the price and included utilities, it’s not a bad place to live.
I chose not to renew my lease after a year due to the various issues, but for the area and price, it may be worth considering if you’re willing to deal with some inconveniences

Nightmare on Upsal st
When we first moved in 3 years ago, we were referred by my sister who lived in building F. We moved into building A across the courtyard. It is very beautiful on the surface but do not be fooled. If you are lucky enough to live in building F or G, you will not have pest problems. Not being able to control the heat is hell. Literally! When it's 50 degrees outside, it's like 90 inside. Tenants have to leave their windows wide open or resort to putting in an ac unit (AC is an additional $75 per... month outside of the summer season and a $300 charge if you use it in the summer season). if you come view a unit, ask to see the laundry room! there are always dead bugs littering the floor. I'm talking about 3 inch bugs that can fly. One time my family was getting ready for bed and we heard a noise that sounded like a harsh ruffling of plastic. We were all in bed and from the top of the wall in front of us, we see a huge bug crawl out of the crown molding . Then as if on cue, a second one emerges from under the door to the hallway. We start freaking out and ask my husband to kill them but something moves at the radiator on the right of the room. It's a third and fourth giant bug. The one on the floor flies up to the dresser on the left and a fifth one joins the party at the top of the wall in front of us. by this time we are standing on the bed screaming and pointing at different ones while throwing our slippers at them. By the end of the assault, my husband killed 7 bugs. If that wasn't bad enough, maintenance and leasing managers never last here. My teenager has had a hole in his ceiling for a year that they did nothing about. It regularly leaks water into his bedroom. If you put rent into escrow while they repair something that has been neglected (by their team), they force you out at the end of your lease. DO NOT MOVE HERE! All the folks who moved in recently , did not renew their lease. We are leaving next month.

Don't believe the hype they suck!
Don't move here. This place went down drastically when new management took over. All of the loyal employees have quit. They can't keep anyone in the leasing office. The buildings are very old. Don't let the few unit that have been Renovated fool you. BENEATH the shiny new stuff is layers of mold, mice, roaches and so many leaks. There is no fitness center. The back parking lot has been unusable for over a year. They went up $200 on all tenants rents without warning while apartment are falling... apart. The pool looks great but it has peeling paint everywhere. They use to keep the grounds clean not any more. You've been warned. Also pretty poor extermination services you have to follow them around to make sure they service the whole apartment. I lived here for over 20 years it was great for Many years but the last 2 years was hell glad to be at an apartment now that cares about its tenants and take proud in the property. No secure place for your packages to be delivered so many packages are stolen.

Mold mold mold
This place is dirty, moldy and disgusting. So blessed to have moved from this hell hole! The pool has paint that comes off on to your skin when swimming and the laundry room is always flooded! Do yourself a favor and spend an extra $100 to live somewhere safe with your family. You and your lungs deserve it!
