Great Location & Price - Old Apartment Complex
Parish Place has 2 great things going for it: location and price. It takes 10-15 minutes to get downtown (depending on traffic). My husband works on Daniel Island and commutes via 526. It only takes him 8 minutes to get there. Parish Place is within walking distance of the library, a grocery store, and several restaurants. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are a quick car or bike ride away. The price is one of the cheapest you'll find in Mt. Pleasant.
Other pros: tennis court, hammock... park, swimming pool, playground, and a (very small) fitness center. Maintenance is also very responsive.
The negatives: it's an older apartment complex. With this comes poor sound proofing, old appliances (A/C, fridge, dishwasher, stove), and an overall "dated" look and floor plan. we pay a lot more for power and water at this apartment than we did at my last one (which was about the same size, but newer). The bedroom closets are small, so there's not a whole lot of space for storage. Parking is also an issue. If you come in late at night or early morning, it is very difficult to find a spot.
Other things to note: they are planning on renovating the kitchens and bathrooms soon. We will be getting new cabinets, kitchen appliances, and flooring. Hopefully this will help some with the utility bills.
Overall, I would recommend Parish Place if you want a great location and price and don't mind the age of the complex.
