Poor Work From Home Environment
Moved in about a month before it became the Harrison, (used to be called the Exchange at Windsor Hill). Original staff was fantastic, kept everything on the grounds really clean, the valet trash was really consistent. As soon as the new property management company took over things went downhill. Regularly piles of trash on the ground because they don't keep the compactor door clear. I can live with that, but in the six months since they took over they've been in our apartment 4 times. Each time... they stick a letter to the door 2-3 days before they'll be in the apartment. The letter will say something like: "We are putting new cabinets in between 9 AM and 6PM". I work from home so I called to ask if they knew what time they'd be in our unit so I could try and schedule meetings around that time, said she couldn't tell me. Ended up having three guys using drills in the kitchen for an hour in the middle of a board meeting. The fixes themselves were very weird too, they replaced things like the cabinets and the mirrors with quite literally identical fixtures, seemed like someone had a deal with a contractor and got a kickback or something. I ended up cancelling my lease early which was also a nightmare but I'm not sure that was the staff's fault; the property management company had put all of the files from the previous owners on a flash drive (in 2023??) so it took forever for them to find my lease and it was a whole thing. All in all, the apartment itself was not bad for the price, and the neighborhood was not bad for North Charleston. I was there during a transitional period so that probably explained my experience, but the whole having people in the apartment thing was really inexcusable, I've never had a place do that with that little notice and that little specificity as to when they would be in there, needs to be better planned.
