You’re just a check.
Pros:
-nice apartment
-good neighbors
-safe area
-good school zone
Cons:
- thin walls
- limited parking (and they go on witch hunts once a year and boot over 20 cars in a night for $75 each)
- yearly rent increases
- gate never works consistently
My rent has gone up with every renewal. This time by about $300, last time by $100. They have priced me and many long-standing tenants out of their apartments. Doesn’t matter that we pay rent on time, clean up after our dogs, or that we would have to... change our kid’s school and move into uncomfortable situations, in order to suddenly find a place to live in a market where the waitlists are up to two years long for places with affordable rates.
There is zero allegiance to renters. You are seriously just a check. My children are broken-hearted to leave their friends, school and home. Our elderly neighbor is like a grandmother to my children and I help her with various day-to-day things. The front office has zero remorse while knowing all of this. Despite many, many attempts on my part to ask for compassion, understanding, and a resolution that would make staying possible they offer none. They simply do not care at all. I was advised in an email that the reason for the increase is “supply and demand.” Literally just taking advantage of people because they can. Talk about a slap in the face.
