Poorly maintained, flying cockroaches, broken air conditioner, dirty carpets
They don’t just have cockroaches, they have the big cockroaches, almost the size of a small mouse, with wings that fly and attack you. Sends shivers down my spine every time.
When my air condition broke for months they just kept telling me it wasn’t broken even though the temperature inside my unit was 86.5 degrees. The only reason it wasn’t hotter was because of a portable air conditioner I purchased at my own expense and installed.
When I moved in my unit, I spent days shampooing my carpets... pulling loads of hair/fur out of them trying to get the stench out. The worst part is I even had to save all the hair in a box under my kitchen sink because I know MAA is probably going to try and charge me for dirty carpets they never cleaned up from the last tenant when I move out.
Their response via email about this concern, a/c problems, and fees I don’t understand was: “The statements you are making qualify as being unfair and misleading, which as stated in the lease agreement is a violation”.
One the plus side, they did invest a considerable amount of time painting the exterior of the buildings, and very pretty flowers in the front to impress prospective residents.
Buyer beware.
