Bowie is not luxury apartment

The value for money at Bowie is poor due to its excessive prices compared to other luxury apartments in downtown Austin. I would strongly discourage you from considering Bowie Apartments. They have numerous issues with elevators, water, and power outages, among other problems. Bowie also charges extra for cable TV and internet services, even if we don't request them, and they refuse to remove these charges. Thus, in my opinion, Bowie no longer qualifies as a luxury apartment.

Run down & overpriced

I’ve lived here two years and the infrastructure is unstable. Instead of investing in replacing necessary functions, they’ve chosen to enhance areas in the leasing office lobby area to lure new people in.

Unstable elevators, gas leaks or shut off, ongoing water issues / pipes bursting (not related to freezes and twice last month flooded), garage cracking and oozing water, expansive pest infestation of fruit flies for weeks, roaches have taken over pet park, improper pet park irrigation, 7 year...
old hallway carpet that is absolutely disgusting, trash chutes caved in and hallways lined with bagged trash instead of valet trash bins, NO A/C in elevators and hallways (hot humid stinky and packed as it takes 20min to get an elevator)… it goes on.

Don’t sign a lease here.

No Gas at the Bowie

I lived at the Bowie since November of 2019 and loved the accessibility to the lake but honestly, I am thoroughly disappointed with the experience now. I would NOT recommend this apartment complex.

I moved out on February 28, 2022. For over 3 weeks in February 2022, we had no gas. I am vegan and had my mom visiting - so it was absolutely painful (and super expensive) to NOT be able to cook at home and order out all the time. I was promised a concession (or rent rebate) but now the team tells me...
that Management hasn't approved any concession for folks that have left the building. This comes after an email where I specifically mentioned that I was moving out and my last month at Bowie has been thoroughly frustrating.

I would like to point out that it is NOT just the gas, there is always trouble to find a spot for Visitors to park their vehicle. I loved the Concierge and the Leasing team (especially Dey/Emily) but definitely would like to call out Emiliano - who is the rudest person to work with and has a major attitude problem.

You might be better off at other places in Downtown but do NOT go to the Bowie.
