3 year resident- personal experiences
Just a few reasons-
1. Management is either unresponsive or untruthful 80% of the time you have an issue in your apartment or when they make a billing mistake. For example- they require residents to register cars or get towed. They ALSO delete resident car registrations and tow cars then deny they did anything regardless of the email evidence.
2. Lots of crime in garage and units getting broken into due to NO security at the site. Of course management simply blames the security company who does... 1 nightly patrol for 5 minutes as the culprit. Nothing else is done as management doesn't care about security.
3. Poor construction leads to frequently flooded apartments, bug problems, and AC units breaking often. Coupled with inept management and maintenance, you have a recipe for a nightmare that will never end.
4. Management will lie to your face on whether your apartment was flooded, thereby denying landlord responsibilities and legal requirement to replace flooring and moldy wall boards.
5. Local management frequently messes up billing, leading to additional charges for tenants. The solution to this is deny, deny, deny. And be unresponsive to complaints.
