Electric $400, never ending mold, bugs, guests towed, code violations, loud tenants

We have lived here going on 3 years and this will be the last. The entire management/maintenance teams have changed 4 times now. Built in the late 90’s the appliances are inefficient. Weatherproof things like insulation and windows no longer work. For a 2 bedroom with 2 people our electric will top out over $400/ mo. In summer we run the main a/c and a portable with fans and the temperature rises to the 80s inside. This is a known issue. We are told they are replacing the inefficient heat pump... systems yet there have been no units changed for the past 5 weeks. Instead they spend money on huge pergola and BBQ pit no one uses. Every management team says they are doing something. Then they disappear. Recent renovations have unearthed roaches which we never had. Spraying seems to do little. Bathroom fans have no ventilation which is a code violation. Has been the entire existence of this property. The lack of ventilation causes mold build up in the a/c system. They call a company who sweeps out the system but never cleans the condenser or return ducting. So you guessed it., mold is an ongoing issue. All types green, grey, white, and black. In fact, black mold grows through the painted over tiles in the bathroom. They simply have you evacuate one day and paint over it again. You will never be at peace living here and you need to know this. Parking rules change w/o notice. It is embarrassing enough some guests are required to pay to park. Then to have them towed costing me close to $600 for 2 vehicles is out of control. The lower rent is not worth it. Fees and electric will end up costing more than other places for net total. You have been warned.

Do not rent here

This apartment complex will not respond to your calls or maintenance requests. Air conditioning broke and I have been without air conditioning for two days with temperatures inside my apartment reaching more than 90 degrees. When calling the emergency maintenance hotline they state being left without A/C is a maintenance emergency, and I would agree it is being in Texas. I have called the emergency maintenance hotline multiple times and left multiple voicemails without response. I have submitted... formal work orders through the resident portal without response. I have called and left voicemails with the leasing staff without response. I also went up to the leasing office to talk to someone during their posted business hours and the office is marked as closed. When I arrived at the office at 4:15 PM the office was marked closed despite them stating they are open until 5 PM. You can clearly see staff inside the leasing office and the golf cart is outside but doors are locked and the "closed will return at 8:30 AM" sign is up.

I am now having to pay to stay at a hotel because my apartment is uninhabitable and I cannot get in contact with anyone who works here. If you like to pay rent and utilities for an apartment that you cannot live in then rent at Lure Apartments. Otherwise I would take your business elsewhere.
