You get what you pay for, unfortunately.
This place is really affordable, especially compared to the other apartments nearby. However, this comes at the cost of basic human comforts like A/C and hot water - extremely bare minimum things. Details below.
In July of 2022, in the middle of 100 degree heat, the air conditioning went out for two weeks. They claimed it was fixed after one week, which is already far beyond acceptable, but it was not. Multiple tenants had to fight to get them to actually fix it.
In February of 2023, we lost... access to hot water due to a boiler issue. Some of us lost hot water for A MONTH.
It is currently June of 2023 when I'm writing this, and we have lost our A/C TWICE due to various issues, although thankfully both times it was resolved within the day.
Other issues I have faced include ignored maintenance requests, poor communication of when maintenance will show up, and extremely slow maintenance repairs (upwards of a month to resolve simple issues).
This whole place needs a massive overhaul, including repaired plumbing and an A/C that is fixed beyond simply a band-aid patch. I don't think they can afford that, though, so you're getting band-aid fixes for the rest of time.
This place is a disaster and a nightmare to live in, never knowing what might break next or if your landlord will even take heed of your pleas for help. Do not, under ANY circumstances, move here, unless you absolutely must for cost purposes.
