Roaches

Roaches roaches roaches!!!

Do not move here!!! I’ve had roaches since I moved in they’re literally on my move in sheet, I was told it was just because the unit was vacant, the problem never changed! I don’t even have food in my apt anymore, they’re everywhere specially in the bathroom!

It’s a horrible area now, the 24/7 convenience store is loud until 2 am and has homeless people all over. You can hear EVERYTHING from outside, even a neighboor’s conversation, there’s also no privacy...
between the balconies unless you have a corner unit like mine.

A stranger tried to break into my door screaming and banging for whoever lived in the unit before me, they did call the police and trespass him but he has been back twice since.

The elevator is small, old, and one is always broken, the gym isn’t a gym, laundry machines will ruin your clothes.

Property Manager at 230 West Alabama Apartments responded to this review

We are sorry that your experience has not met your expectations and thank you for the feedback you have shared. We take every concern seriously and do our best to address them all. For pest control, we have a contractor come out weekly to take care... of each level of our building. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of neighboring residents when it comes to the thoroughness of the service. In-unit sprays are optional, but rest assured that all exterior, hallways, and common areas are addressed each time. We would like to schedule a time to sit and further discuss all concerns with you as your experience is important to us. Thank you for your time and feedback. We look forward to hearing from you. – West Alabama Team

Horrible

The management here is absolutely horrible. I have never felt this way with any management company before. They are constantly looking for chances to get mad at residents and then they don't take care of you when someone is in your reserved parking spot. They treat you like a criminal not a customer! Wish I could give 0 stars

Don't waste your time or money

I would say you get what you pay for, but that's not even scratching the surface. While the new management team appears efficient, the other residents make this the worst living experience imaginable. The apartment walls are paper thin with no insulation (so you can expect your energy bill to be enormous), and the lack of screens on the windows and sliding glass door make it virtually impossible to open a window without letting in bugs. There are no lights nor outlets on the patio so you can... forget about going out there at night, and the parking situation is a complete nightmare, with other residents taking over multiple spots; parking in fire lanes/blocking doors, etc.
Before you move in, first consider: are you okay with hearing your neighbors at all hours of the night, finding other cars in your parking spot, having no places to dispose of your dog's poop, never having your emails responded to by the leasing office, and being treated like yesterday's trash while older residents are catered to like VIP? Do yourself a favor: spend a little more on one of the other apartments nearby and save yourself the endless headache of living here.

Avoid at all cost

The apartment units are nice, but parking and management are AWFUL. I’ve been living here for 6 months, and I cannot wait to get out. The assigned parking isn’t enforced, so if someone parks in the spot you pay for, there’s nothing management will do. They won’t allow the car to be towed, despite all the signs posted, and the security guard is never around. Security is usually across the street at the corner store playing the slot machine, or taking a nap by the pool. The bills are always being... lost, so I’ve gotten a call about my water bill every month for like 4 months. And the hallways are always musty. I’ve found better cheaper.
