Going on Year 2

I really love living here at Ascent. Rachel and Tristan are a dynamic duo and always provide great customer service. There was an issue with an upstairs neighbor that impacted myself and about 2 other units. It was a slow, loud, agonizing process but I can say that Rachel did seem to care and understand my frustration. It’s usually pretty quiet here. Every now and then you’ll hear people and/or pets running up and down the hallway. THAT is extremely annoying. You’ll even get your occasional loud... music but all in all, it’s pretty quiet here. Parking can be a pain if you don’t have a reserved spot but that’s an easy fix. Yes the elevators are out of commission on a pretty consistent basis but considering it’s a small property, the elevators are all pretty close to each other. I would definitely recommend the Ascent to anyone. It’s clean, quiet, small, and new. The location is the absolute best. I plan to stay for another year if the floor plan I want is available.

stay awayy

This place has taken a downturn since new management was installed (ownership transferred around end of 2019 I think).

1. Can smell weed on a regular basis. Personally don't mind, but mentioning that if that's an issue for you.
2. Elevators have been broken for 9 months now (we have 3). They "fix" them once in a while (probably a patch-up) and then cease to function the next day.
3. Impossible to get ahold of management. And they are pretty apathetic to any maintance issues.
4. Maintance crew...
is great. Giving a low rating on maintenance due to the elevator issues which I don't think the local crew has the expertise to solve.
5. Break-ins are normal (to apartments and cars). Last time we had a bunch of packages stolen because management left them in conference room for anybody to take. They had a temporary fix of finally bringing them back under their control. That seems to only have been temporary though and now can see on a daily basis packages stacked up inside the lobby. They have hired security but it's not there on a regular nightly basis.
6. Fire safety measures seem to be lacking. Whenever power is out, lights down the fire exits are completely off. So you're walking through dark corridors. Thought they would've known that after allowing us to go through a 12 hour fire alarm test (yes, constant blaring in apartments and corridors for 12 hours straight to do a "fire safety" test.

Conclusion: Stay away. They are here to maximize profits in the short-run by patching things up instead of coming up with long-term solutions. Or they just don't care and want to operate this place as a bottom-tier dwelling.

Pet Owners Beware

The wood veneer floors are poor quality that scratch very easily. When we left they charged us $1900. I offered $845 (market rate for sqft) to be fair and they declined. All this even after paying over $3000 to break our lease 4 months early to buy a home.
