Do Not Recommend at all

The first week I moved in the ac went out, my apartment reached temperatures of 94 degrees, they fixed it after two days and a month later it went out again. They have to turn on the heat for the complex, so whenever there is a cold front the apartment is freezing. Management gave tiny heaters that broke after a month. They have been stealing money from residents by charging the insurance rate to residents evens if they have renters insurance. I asked them to remove it the first month I noticed,... and they said they would. It’s been four months and they keep charging it. They have been extremely dismissive and have still not fixed the problem. This place needs to be fumigated. They make you pay for it, but they haven’t done it. There are so many bugs, it’s disgusting and frustrating. You clean and clean, but they get in through the holes in the walls and through the pipes. I have no idea how much money I have spent on roach traps. I have a cat and he caught a mouse. At night you can literally hear the mice in the walls. The entire apartment complex is falling apart. The floor boards are separating. The roof leaks when it rains. The laundry rooms are always filthy. The machines never work. The grounds are very neglected. There are pot holes all over grounds. I have submitted so many service requests that get “completed” only for them to do nothing. The entire time I have lived here one of my burners hasn’t worked and neither has the ice maker in the fridge. The electricity is completely shut off in the living room, entrance way, and staircase OUTSIDE my apartment if the light switch in my bedroom is turned off. I literally have to always leave it on, if not the outlets or any of the lights in those other parts of the apartment don’t work. I called multiple times for them to come get it looked at, and they said that’s just the way it is. “You get what you pay for” shouldn’t mean living in such awful conditions. I have no idea how these apartments are allowed to function.

DO NOT LIVE HERE

This property is a disaster. They have recently changed management companies, however nothing can fix the issues at this location other than a demolition. There is rust in the water, roaches, rats, fleas, leaking pipes, etc. In the past year, the AC has been out a total of 7 times. I have witnessed mold in vacant units being painted over and hidden, packages stolen, appliances stolen from units, straight lies from management, the list literally goes on forever.
The water temperature goes from...
scalding hot to cold, there is no middle ground in the shower. The baths have all been resurfaced poorly such that the tile itself is resurfaced as well. The paint jobs are a joke. There is paint literally everywhere. A neighbor had mold in his unit that they refused to have fixed/treated/removed. There are neighbors that let their dogs run loose constantly, that fight at all hours of the night, and that walk around their units with the windows open, naked.
Management does not return phone calls or emails. I have tried for two weeks to get a work order in. The manager says, oh yes, we'll get that done for you, and then it never happens. They new management has put in stainless steel appliances and granite into the vacant units (which there are plenty of) and have increased the rent by $250 bucks. Current residents have gotten nothing. It feels like they are just ignoring us until we move out.
The plumbing is abysmal. The toilets are constantly clogged. There was a sewage leak onto the grounds and the city of Houston actually came out and inspected the place. The pool has NEVER been open. It is always green.
The dumpsters are overflowing as residents are constantly moving out. The laundry room hardly works. The washers are only good to use if you fill them halfway. But watch out, the roaches really like to hang in there because the sewage cap is right next to the entrance. The walkway by the laundry smells like urine and sewage all the time. The roofs leak.
I can't even explain how awful this place is. It's a joke. The rent isn't even cheap enough to make up for it anymore.
Whatever you do, don't live here. It is a mistake.

Great Value for prime Location. Pleasant Management and Service Team. General Review.

I would like to take the time to write and show my appreciation to the staff of this property. Rick is a great manager and so are the hardworking Service team members Walter and Frank. These guys really do not get enough credit for their hard work. Management and Staff from my experience as a resident do what is humanly possible to promptly respond to any inquiry or service matter. What residents must remember should any major issue arise on property as with any housing complex, is that there... is a corporate procedure and budget. Therefore, some matters require more time to resolve and it is not the onsite staffs fault for any delays in corporate approval or additional budgetary matters. Moreover, with this being an older property there will be some issues expected as with an older car and things breaking down or being outdated. Mind you, there are a few things that I would like to see improved however the purpose of this review is just to give my overall general impression of the property. In sum, the amenities for the price and location are worth it. The market is competitive and I would say this property stacks up pretty well among the rest for this area especially for the age. Keep up the good work Barcelona!
Resident since October 2017.

worse complex ever

I have been living here for 6 months and it has been the worst 6 months of my life. There is a ridiculous amount of roaches and rats. I have even waited outside of my apartment with my newborn daughter for two hours because there was a possum on the stairs going up to my apartment and I could not get anyone to come get rid of the possum. My bath tub has been clogged for weeks and the office staff never put in a work order. My ceilings are molding and cracking and my roof has started to leak into... my home in 3 different places. Every time I've tried to call no one answers and no one is ever in the office. I do not recommend these apartments at all.property manager , rude , mean , and lye too much every month tenants are moving out , if you ask them the reason , one answer poor management , overcharging on the bills even if they're not functioning properly , and don't even seem to care .

Unpleasant apartments

I wish I can witness moments where everything was great in Barcelona. Because at at this exact moment words can describe how awful this complex is ,reason I move my family to a better a nicer place where my kids will enjoy playing at a nicer and safe playground, clean and well maintained pool , very quiet , friendly , honest and caring management.
