A Friendly Heads Up

I moved in Feb 2016. It was my first apt so I was happy with the layout and the office personnel were really nice. What they didn't tell me when I moved in was that the parking lot becomes one giant pool after maybe an hour of heavy rain. There was a storm 2 months into my lease and I had a nice neighbor come knock on my door to let me know that so I was able to save one of our cars, the other one wasn't so lucky. You can imagine how quickly I relocated when Harvey came in. I was thankfully on... the 2nd floor and when I moved out in Jan 2018 the bottom apartments throughout the entire complex were still empty due to the flooding. If you do move in I would definitely recommend checking the weather constantly and if the heavily pothole-filled street outside the complex is lined with cars, then you might want to park elsewhere. And before you move out, clean everything or they will charge you for it later.

Avoid

Not the worst, but certainly not good.
Can't wait for our lease to end.
Needed repairs from our first day walkthrough have yet to be repaired; includes 3 of the 4 stove burners, a shattered floor near the fire place, a broken drawer that won't sit in its slot (more annoying than you would imagine), collapsing ceiling, non-working shower, and loose electrical outlets.
Maintenance workers don't speak English so it's very difficult to communicate problems to them when they do attempt to fix your...
problems.
Received bill with overcharge of almost $100!
Had to show management that we had paid our full balance.

Renter beware!

First in far most it's Roach invested, management are rude, property is infested with straight cats many straight cats , maintenance crew have no idea what there doing . I regret signing a least with this place had to cancel after 6 months . Beside it being noisy. The walls are so thin you here everything .I would not recommend to my worse enemy Oh let's not forget the mold and fungus that dwells here. health problem for sure. Renter be aware.

A glimmer of niceness in the hood

The area might not be the best...and it's not. But this small complex is cute and since new management bought the place it's gotten even better. Del Lago is a smaller complex so maintenance will fix any problem that arises, not at lightening speed, but they will get it done and apologize profusely for making you wait on them. The layout of the apartments is thought out and has a nice feel to it. I've lived through two year leases with them. Most come with (smaller)washers/dryers in the apartment... too which is a plus! It's close to the freeway as well..so easy in and out although the "security gates" are a bit of a joke. But from what I understand management is trying to make it better little by little. It has a little pool that is pretty much always overrun by unsupervised children..but it's maintained fairly well. Overall it's decent apartment complex that could always get better, but is a definite improvement to the surrounding (hood)area!
