I’ve lived here a few years. I live in the north building which is the building across from where the leasing office is. For years I’ve loved living here. It has its pros and cons. The cons have me contemplating not renewing my lease especially since I’m paying luxury prices.
Pro:
-Beautiful apartments and buildings
-Nice amenities (although the pool is small, it’s not busy most times and they don’t shut it down right after Labor Day which is a plus)
-Reserved Parking
-Quiet hours
-Friendly... staff
-Nice and quiet neighborhood with proximity to the medical center, lots of stores, the bayou, and 15-25 min drive (depending on traffic) to midtown, downtown, and other hotspots.
Cons:
-They treat the South building (which has the leasing office) better than the North building.
-Too many instances in the north building where the garage gates are left open for days, the intercom doesn’t work, the lobby doors aren’t secured, and stairwells are left propped open with a rock or wood. I’ve seen two people sleeping in the lounge area on one of the floors. Some security when we pay luxury apartment prices. I’ve had guests and delivery people literally question and laugh at how easy it is to get in my building.
-Lots of times when both elevators in the north building have been out for an extended amount of time, then one started working and the other was out for months with no communication to the tenants. But if one of the south building elevators go out, they will send a mass message, put up a sign, and have techs working on it right away. The elevator is often out that tenants are surprised when either one works.
-The lobby of the south building is more aesthetically pleasing with a home feel and nice corner furniture (I assume for when potential tenants come to visit). The north building lobby is much bigger and just has a tiny antique looking table sitting by the elevator.
-Some tenants leave huge amounts of garbage and even old furniture near the dumpster on the weekend. It stinks, makes the exterior lobby look crappy, and attracts cockroaches. They need to exterminate the exterior.
-When they conduct carpet cleaning a smell emits from the carpet. It’s such a foul nauseating odor for days. They used to put fans to help air it out faster but stopped doing that even after complaints.
-The furniture in the pool area is old, dirty, and has a lot of spiderwebs.
-Which building exterior got a whole new facelift with fresh paint? You guessed it. Not the north building.
