New to the area
Needed to move the family to the Austin area for work. Spent a while talking to different people To figure out which areas of the metroplex I wanted my family to live in. Got a card from a bartender at a restaurant (locals are friendly, it' the non-locals that you want to watch out for). Ended up going to an apartment finder realtor because most properties I looked at seemed to be in my budget but were all "income restricted" and I had a broken lease. My realtor took the time to find apartments... that met my families needs (price, commute to work and child care, willing to work with a broken lease). This apartment felt like a blessing. The apartments themselves are very nice. I'm not crazy about the white cabinets but the kitchen is super spacious and you'd find a hard time beating this price anywhere. It had actual washer and dryer hook ups (which doesn't seem to be a thing the closer to Austin you get). The apartments are updated with great new carpeting and they are still updating the apartments as they go. Candi (property manager) had been absolutely great. I've had to call maintenance twice and they always repsonded really quickly (maintenance issue not their fault). I don't have any pets (my dog died over a year ago) but I enjoy that this place is very pet friendly. Most people that live here are families with dogs of all different sizes and breeds. And one thing that I've noticed and that I love is that this property seems pretty racially diverse. Which is really important for us to bring our daughter up in that type of environment as a mixed race family. I have great neighbors and over all I just really enjoy the environment and pace of life. The only inprovements I would suggest is changing the pool cerfew to 9pm in the summer on week nights. (I know most kids are on summer break but the most of us still enforce bedtimes and have to work in the morning ourselves. I'm trying really hard not to sound like a spoil sport. Just a suggestion). Recarpeting the stare well/breeze way or something else practical and property management cleaning it regularly. It's the only feature here on property that seems to not match up with how great the apartments actually are. Putting in a child scape/ jungle gym area as well. It be great to go out a play with my kid while we grill (which is a big thing here in the summer). More covered parking would be great too. Especially near the trees or the back line of property where the side walk and dog walk is.
