This company is terrible to deal with
My son applied to stay at The Edge for the 2021/22 school year and submitted a deposit. Circumstances changed with him joining a fraternity and having to live in the frat house next year. He found a person to take his place at The Edge and his replacement submitted another deposit. The Edge refused to refund my son's deposit. The only reason given was if you back out of the contract you forfeit your deposit. Clearly this was an opportunity to take advantage of a situation where there was... absolutely no negative impact to The Edge. I highly recommend you don't conduct business with this organization or stay at their properties.

We understand that there are situations in which a new resident's plans change prior to moving in. That is why we outline the cancelation policy on the 1st page of the application that all applicants and guarantors sign. If a new resident has signed... their lease contract and needs to cancel before moving in, they do lose their reservation deposit. This covers the cost of re-renting the room. Once the room is re-rented, the resident is no longer responsible for the 12 month lease contract. We are sorry to lose your son as a new resident, but happy he was able to find someone to take over his lease so he is no longer responsible for the rental contract.
Sincerely,
