Just move somewhere else
Now that I’ve moved, I can leave a review. I’m going to start with the stuff they are at fault more and then move into the environmental factors. Let’s start with the hours. Our office hours are supposed to be 9-5. The office manager is almost always not in by 9 and we’re lucky if she’s here to 4. They don’t respond to calls or emails often. Power outages are a problem here. That’s not a huge deal at a glance but one thing that makes it so bad is that we have an electronic entry. So, if the... power goes out, you have to hope someone hears you know king to get in or had propped open the door. Then, the system often has to be reset and if the power goes out on the weekend you can forget it. We had mice. Multiple units in our building had mice. They blamed it on some tenants and handed us sticky traps and said good luck. We had dead mice in our washer, in a ceiling light, you name it. The fire alarm goes off consistently and the obnoxious beeping can be heard through most of the building. They don’t check for it and it doesn’t get fixed very often. It’s especially concerning since we now don’t know if there is a legit emergency. When we moved in we noticed how rushed the new building was. Huge gaps under doors, flooring gaps between the walls, paint splatters on the floor, exposed wood on the door frames, sink plugs that don’t work, and more. The washer hooks clothes and they rip when you finally get it free. The glass doors are impractical for privacy. If there is a light behind it you can see it all. Moving on to things they can’t help that make me not recommend it. The road noise can be awful. Sometimes it is fine, but it can be overwhelming because it is constant. On calls or meetings, I often miss a minute or more due to traffic rumbling by, honking, blaring music, etc. Fire trucks and police go by on full blast at any given hour and they go both ways so lost sleep is a problem especially when it wakes up animals or kiddos. Then of course there is the increased number of people screaming on the street in the middle of the night. Crossing the crosswalk by our building is a huge safety issue because traffic goes by so fast and tends to ignore walk signs. When it gets snow or ice, there is no good system to clear us. Many cars were trapped for days because the snow plow trapped them. They never put down salt or anything. I’ve lived at much better apartments for an equal price.

Property Manager at Gish Flats responded to this review
We are sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than exemplary. Gish Flats Management team strives to make our community a place that our tenants feel valued and at home. As the new manager (since 09/2021) I would have welcomed the... opportunity to address your concerns prior to you leaving. Thank you for making Gish Flats your home and we wish you the best in your new home. Also know that we are not aware of any current issue with mice in any of our units nor since taking over management in September am I aware of any issues. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and we hope other tenants will know that they can always come to the office to discuss any issues.
