The Jamestown Apartments

i have left countless of emails and called them several times during business hours in regarding to living here. They never answer the phone nor do they return emails nor phone calls. Most definitely dodged a bullet. If it’s this hard to get in contact with them without me staying here i can only imagine what it’s like for the tenants . I suggest you find somewhere that answers their phone . Don’t move here!

Do not move here if you expect things to be done in a timely manner or for the emergency maintenance number to work at odd hours when no one is in the office.
I moved here in November

- Move-In weekend; the upstairs bathroom flooded through the vent into my kitchen. We couldn’t shower in the house for 3 days because it wasn’t an emergency since we were told not to use that shower. No one answered the emergency line while I had water coming from under my kitchen cabinets and through the vent... over my sink. There were supposed to come back and fix the wall and paint, etc. from the water damage. I am positive that will never happen.
- I filled out their “move-in” checklist with every possible thing wrong from the floor having holes, light fixtures rusted, blinds coated in smoke residue from prior residents, and mold where the tub connected to the shower walls. This is the shortlist and nothing was done with the list. ( I did clean the mold out, obviously).
- I was told the apartment was cleaned top to bottom; Lies, The grout was so nasty leaving weird smells in the apartment until I scrubbed it out. The microwave had food caked in it, the fridge was nasty all around it, the list goes on…
- In March, a hose busted to the water heater in the middle of the night. We turned every knob trying to turn the water off, but it required turning multiple knobs since this place is old. We started calling the emergency line at 0430. No call back until 0630, no one showed up until 0800. We didn’t have water for about 1.5 days and the office managed to screw up when an outside contractor would be there. When I spoke to the contractor, he said “it’s always been on my schedule for this time”. Causing issues with my job, I was out for 2 days.
o The leak caused the ancient floors to come up and now I have a bare floor where the water just sat causing warping/breaking. Still not fixed. Water leaked under my cabinets during each leak, no fans were brought in, nothing to see if there is mold under my cabinets. I got told, they will check later. Later hasn’t come.
- Work orders are marked completed but never fixed. When questioned they just customer service me and tell me they will get back to me, most times they don’t.

I currently live here and it has been a disaster from day one we moved in and they were holes behind the fridge in the wall on top of that in the utility closet there’s a hole in the ground that maintenance says it’s for drainage which makes no sense to me. Winter is now here and my husband came home to see a rat in the kitchen when we complain about it they finally patched up the wall. This was months after we moved in complaining about the wall. They finally got to it. We also have a bug issue... and I’m not talking about water bugs I’m talking about roaches they keep finding their way inside the house more than likely due to the holes in the floor in the closet. We see them less often because of winter time but it’s a major problem. I’m not used to roaches in my house never had this issue in the apartments I was at before. We see lots of spiders and other bugs I’m not familiar with and I think this all has something to do with the woods in the back of the apartments. If you are OK with living with outside bugs coming in this is the apartment for you. The heating and cooling is not effective it gets too warm upstairs and too cold downstairs. Generally the apartments are very old and the foundation is not as good as it should be which leaves gaps between the wall and the ground. When you have gaps like that bugs can hide and multiply and travel all around the apartment without you noticing. I will not be renewing my lease due to all of these reasons. We liked the area. It is secluded off the road and you might even miss it. Close to shopping and not a bad commute to Langley. It backs up to the woods, which is nice (although you may have some bug issues) and the Nolan trail. You can hear your neighbors through the thin walls, but I had quiet neighbors on both sides which was nice. They were good about coming out for the bugs about three times and came to fix things in a timely fashion.
I had to leave after a year due to a change in station.... We cleaned and made sure everything was in top shape. But then we were charged $75 for not sweeping up the leaves, $25 because the refrigerator was not clean, although we did clean it, $45 for a broken blind. I never used the blinds and had no idea it was even broken. And then $25 for holes in the wall. Don't you put up pictures in an apartment? Aren't you supposed to paint and repair after a tenant leaves? We tried to dispute it with the Tower Management and they said to call Jamestown. Jamestown said you can't dispute it. Oh well, lesson learned. When I come back to Langley I will looks somewhere else because of these nit picky things. This place can be okay but I don't think it's worth moving here, the management of this place isn't reliable. Is a hit or miss on things. I feel sometimes they lie about how much water you're using, it's just me and my husband who's never really around and one month is $30 bucks to another month is around $80 and you can fight them on it but there's really no telling. You're word against theirs, when you ask proof of water usuage all you get is some spread sheet someone could've made on excel.
