My boyfriend and I planned to move here while I was still pregnant with our son, and we only lasted ONE day. We toured an entirely different apartment, which was considered the “model.” In one day, we saw too many roaches to count and they were all through our boxes. When leaving out, we had to throw away most of our things and shake out all of our clothes. All management was worried about was getting the $ for rent, and said that if we didn’t pay they would change the locks and we wouldn’t be... able to get our things from inside. When we left (a day later), we received no refund, even though we were told otherwise. All the apartment complex did was move the next family in. We demanded to see an exterminator whether we decided to move in or not because the conditions were literally inhabitable & saw no one. Please do not move into these apartments, I would give them zero stars if I could.

Don't move here anytime soon.
I would absolutely not live here anytime soon. There are these kids that blast their music throughout the entire complex from the parking lot for HOURS. We ask them to stop and they turn it up louder. The police have been called on them multiple times from all different residents, but because the noise ordinance policy doesn't start until 10pm, they do what they want. We've called Aston Ridge and they say they'll work on it, but they haven't done anything for months.
If you enjoy your time when... you're at home, don't move here.
We have lived here for 3 years and it was fine the first year, but has gotten considerably worse. This summer our AC was out for a whole month. We were calling every few days and they gave us a different story each time. I finally had to contact lawyers and together we called the property owners and they put me in a hotel and had it fixed that day.
It's honestly a great location here. It's close to the mall and Richmond, but I promise you it's not worth the living in misery while you're here.

Only if you consider yourself lucky
This could be a great place to live - off the main road but close to everything, spacious apartments, somewhat renovated (though the quick paint jobs were rather lousy jobs), but only if you consider yourself lucky.
- The walls are paper thin, so if you're unlucky, you'll end up with the noisy neighbors and forget any peace and quiet, because the office doesn't even bother enforcing their quiet hours (and even if they did, if your neighbor snores, you'll hear it as well as if they were sleeping... in your room - and I'm half-deaf - imagine what happens when they scream at each other.).
- As mentioned above, the office doesn't enforce their own rules. They don't bother with the night hours, and pay the same attention to "no loitering": so if you're unlucky, your packages will be stolen from the doorstep. No soliciting? They don't care either, so you get to "enjoy" annoying ice cream trucks melodies all day long.
- Communication with the management office is poor. Their best method is leaving a piece of paper on your door handle and sneaking away... good luck reading it if it gets wet. If you call them, they will sound nice and promise to call you back... Well, don't hold your breath. You might as well call them again the next day. And again. And again. But maybe you'll be lucky and you won't have to call them for a week.
- Their portal has issues. Seemingly, a lot of them, because sending multiple statements, sending the water bill out on paper and only weeks later adding it to the portal is a common occurrence. And, by the way, the device you "activate" your account will likely be the only one you can access it from. Very 21st century indeed.
- Community events? "Come have some free food at the office" text an hour before the event starts, and it is just it: free food.
- There are some issues with USPS delivering mail as well - it's not on the office, but it'll affect your standard of living when you have to chase your mail down.
- Oh, and manage your expectations when it comes to the "upgraded fitness center" which is several machines in a closet-sized space, and the "modern clubhouse" is just a backroom of the office.
What's good? The maintenance team. Great communication, responsiveness, and I truly feel sorry for them to suffer the same lack of communication from the office. Space is nice too, and the apartment is bright, and if you complain of any bugs, you'll be put on pest control - so at least they'll taking care of something.

Not bad
Quiet area, back off major road. Nice location to major shopping areas. Maintenance is great and friendly when they finally respond to request. When I moved in I was told there were events every week. When we have them they are few and in between and when we do have one we don’t get notified till the moment it’s happening, very last minute. If they’d happen more, think it would bring the community together. The pool and outdoor area is great except for the young kids and no residents that show... up to swim, which makes it very unpleasant for the paying residents. There’s no one there to follow up on the rules posted. But for the most part good community, friendly people.

Not bad
Quite area back off major road. Maintenance is great and always friendly when they finally respond to request. When I signed my lease they talked about events every week but they are few and in between and when they do happen we get a text at the time it’s happening. Very short notice! Think by doing more events and things in the community it could bring the area together more. The pool gets a lot of nonresidents and young people and makes it less enjoyable as a paying resident. No one cares... about the rules posted. But for the most part, happy w the area and apartment.
