About Consolidated Apartments
This stunning community is a classic example of what can be achieved when creative vision is allowed to integrate historic architecture with modern design. Here each loft has been painstakingly designed to take full advantage of the building's... character and incorporate the living area into the original space. Huge windows were opened, sturdy columns exposed and painted brick walls refurbished. Massive doors were restored and left in place as visual reminders of the building's industrial past. But preserving history isn't enough, so every loft features a host of modern conveniences including in-suite washer and dryer, open kitchen layouts with microwave, full stove, a large refrigerator, track lighting, and of course wiring for internet and communications service. As part of the River Lofts development, residents not only enjoy a unique urban lifestyle but also have full use of all community amenities including 2 pools, a huge fitness center, private courtyards, on-site parking and much more.

Off the Charts Loft Living
I have called the Consolidated Building of the RIver Lofts at Tobacco Row my home for 3 years, and I am honestly afraid to move. The combination of location, amenities, and overall look and feel are unparalleled by any other apartment in Shockoe Bottom. The expansive 14 foot ceilings combined with open loft floor plan and exposed ceilings make my 780 square foot apartment feel twice as big. Between the 2 pools, 3 gyms, and countless surrounding bars and restaurants there's no shortage of things... to do. Blocks away from the breathtaking views of Libby Hill park, concerts and festivals on Brown's Island, and the ever expanding nightlife of downtown RIchmond, VA, the River Lofts at Tobacco Row are the perfect residence of someone who likes the big city feel with a little city price.
The unit itself has a washer and dryer, microwave, central air,and massive windows (equipped with blinds). The maintenance staff is extremely responsive, especially for issues considered emergencies such as broken heating or leaking pipes. There is free coffee at 3 different locations on the property, friendly 24/7 security, as well as ample street parking or convenient deck parking (available for purchase).
In my three years as a resident I have seen the surrounding area vastly improve with new business establishments setting up shop nearby. Within steps of the newly finished Virginia Capital trail, a grocery store and pharmacy, and captivating views of the James RIver and Richmond skyline, the River Lofts at Tobacco Row (the Consolidated building specifically) are a renter's dream come true.

Great Location, Great Amenities, Great Apartment
My wife and I just moved in to the River Lofts Consolidated building in July. We moved to Richmond VA from Brooklyn NY so we are used to a certain level of urban living and were worried we lose that moving to Richmond. The River Lofts have been able to meet all of our requirements. To start the location is great. Its a short walk to downtown where there are a ton of restaurants and things to do. We have probably half a dozen parks and museums within a five minute walk. Like Brooklyn we have a... lot within walking distance, even the grocery and pharmacy are just across the street. On top of this, the location of our building is in a quiet area, by that I mean that most of the restaurants and main thoroughfares are down the street and we see little traffic and noise around our building. So, we have a ton within walking distance, good urban living, but at the same time we can have a quiet night around our building. As for the building and apartment itself, it's pretty cool. The building is an old Tobacco warehouse that has been refurbished into apartments. So the building has a lot of character, exposed brick, old world charm, and is surrounded by history. The building sits on the river so we have a beautiful view of the river and the canal from our apartment. The decor and setting of the public spaces is great. Very modern and tasteful. Walking into the lobby is relaxing, there's a fireplace and a comfortable lounge. The amenities are great too, in my building alone we have a full gym, swimming pool, and hot tub. On top of this we have access to the other buildings that are a part of the River Lofts company and there amenities, which include another pool, volley ball court, home theater, gardens and courtyards. Also community grills, so even though we are in an apartment we can just go downstairs and cook out. The buildings have good security and the staff has been very nice to us. The apartment itself is pretty nice. We have a two bedroom, two bath. The finishings are nice, dishwasher, microwave, laundry machine and dryer. We have exposed brick in the apartment and the ceilings have to be at least 12 feet tall. Huge windows which is great with the river view. Hard wood floors and just an awesome design make the apartments well worth it. My wife and I have been here for about two months now and have zero complaints. I would definitely suggest this building to any of my friends looking to move.
