Flea invested
We moved here on 9/1/2016. Upon getting our new apartment, the first thing my wife told the manager was about some weird smell in 2 of the rooms which the manager said was because of the recent cleaning and ignored her complaint. Then, I and our 1-year old developed red bumps on our legs and arms which were extremely itchy. We took a few days to figure out that these were bites of some sort. When we approached management they confirmed that these were flea bits because the previous owner had a... pet. Ideally they asked should have done Pet treatment before our move. So either it wassnt dine or wasnt done well enough. We also figured that the weird smell was due to a previous pet and we also frequently saw pet hair on our carpet. They agreed to get a flea treatment done but told us that the treatment team can come only after 2 days. We repeatedly asked them if we need any preparation for the treatment. We were told nothing but when the flea guy came, he shouted at us for wasting his time and not preparing the apartment. He mentioned we should have been given a pre-treatment checklist. Now 5 days after the treatment, my 1-year old again woke up crying at night and we noticed fresh flea bites. When we complained again, we were given a post- treatment checklist after 5 days and told that it could be because we did not follow that. How were we supposed to know what to do without getting the checklist in advance. Their intentions might be in the right place but our experience has been horrible- with both my infant and me having to live with flea bites for more than 20 days and no end in sight

First off we would like to apologize for your frustrations. We believe that there may be a misunderstanding of our knowledge of this issue. While preparing your apartment for you in August, we did have your apartment treated on August 4th. We treated... it while it was vacant and inspected your home prior to move in and did not find any fleas. While this time of year fleas are unfortunately common, we can assure you there were no signs of fleas prior to you moving in. There are many reasons this could be the case, fleas leave eggs and they can hatch later and become an immediate issue. On 9-9 you placed a work order for a smell in your bedrooms and we immediately contacted the carpet cleaning vendor and had them come back into your home and re clean. We did not get any other complaints after that so we were under the impression you were satisfied with the cleaning. On 9-13 you reported an issue with fleas and we immediately had our pest control company come back out the very next day to treat your home, both our leasing agent and our Maintenance supervisor were present in the office to discuss the preparation with you and asked that you had everything cleared out and clothes put away. When we arrived none of this was taken care of, while this situation was not a fault of yours, every action taken does matter which is why it is important that instructions are followed.
We are very sorry if you did not receive the post treatment form, it is however common for it to take time to completely get rid of all fleas. We completely understand your concerns and we are truly sorry that you are having this issue. We want to assure you that we are doing everything that we can to resolve this in a timely manner. We sincerely care about your happiness and appreciate you letting us know your concerns. We will be contacting you to discuss the next steps in resolving this.
