Warning: looks can be deceiving
Lots of things were great: the unit, location, amenities, office staff (Emily) price
HOWEVER , be aware that you are signing a lease with LCM, a terrible leasing company who looks for ways to take your money and put blame on you . Here are some issues:
1. We do not have pets but during our initial tour and signing, we asked if we’d be able to pet sit once in a while and we were given a “yes.” Come to find an eviction warning a week later taped on our door saying that we broke the agreement... because we watched a dog for the weekend. We apologized and reminded them of what we talked about. They said going forward, as long as we asked permission it would be alright to per sit (we were there 3 years, we probably pet sat 4 times) BUT then they denied us and said we needed to pay the pet deposit.
2.My car was stolen from their underground parking structure. How did they handle that? The LCM lady reached in her purse and handed me a gift card she didn’t want while the cops are gathering my information - no further follow up or apology
3. Security deposit - do not expect to get it all back, we are a clean, professional, practical couple who took care of our apartment. At the time of move out we spent hours (alongside our mothers) doing a deep clean of our apartment and thought we would for sure get our deposit back, thinking we went above and beyond with cleaning - we believed they purposefully embellished “damages” so they would be able to keep more money - we were shocked at how much they kept after how long and hard we cleaned
So if any of these issues above will bother you, I’d suggest finding an apartment building run by a better company than LCM.

Property Manager at Historic Fifth Ward Lofts responded to this review
We are very sorry you feel this way and that living at The Historic Fifth Ward Lofts was not a good experience for you. In response to items you have listed in your review:
Our pet policy is stated very clearly in our lease. We do not allow visiting... pets for many reasons, including legal. Our managers make our policies known during the initial leasing process.
There was one isolated incident where someone did follow a resident into the parking garage and later drove off with a Kia. We send reminders to our residents for this very reason. Unfortunately, there was a design error making Kia’s very easy targets across the country. We are truly sorry this happened to you and we did everything to help with the situation. Due to privacy reasons, the police and insurance work directly with the resident experiencing the loss. We provide video surveillance and any other information asked of us by police and insurance. We receive no information regarding the case, unless the resident keeps us informed.
Your unit in question was part of a recent remodel and solid wood doors were left with severe damage at move out, among other items. Our door vendor repair charges far exceeded the cost that was deducted. We always welcome our residents to reach out for photos and documentation of damages. We work with our residents and love nothing more than returning full security deposits. In addition, we present all exiting residents with a move out and cleaning checklist well before move out to help ensure their full refund. Our team is always here to answer any questions and work with residents. We did reach out to you to let you know it is not too late to contact us to discuss further.
We appreciate your years of residency and wish you the best!
Sincerely,
LCM Funds Real Estate
