Lived here 4 years...

This was our first apartment. We moved in, almost EVERYTHING was still damaged from the prior tenants. Doors had/have holes in them, pation seal is busted so its cloudy, window and patio door trim have severe scratch damage from a dog, the kitchen counter had/has several gouges, My fiancée's father had to caulk our tub because it wasn't done when we moved in, the fridge was not cleaned out, the ceiling fan in the dining room had vertical layers of dust caked on it. The plumbing for the bedroom... sink into the wall is exposed by a large hole in the wall. Basically when we moved in, it was our first apartment and it was worth it to us to only pay $500 for it. Electric/internet/laundry is all we had to pay. Now we pay $645 for rent and a water allowance (not sure if this would be different for a new tenant), about $40-50 for laundry ($1.75 each), renters insurance, pet rent, electric, and internet. They randomly threaten fees that are not listed in the lease. There are regular visits from the police to this building. As you can imagine the walls are INCREDIBLY thin. Every morning we can hear our downstairs neighbor pee. Oh and their portable washing machine shakes our bathroom floor. The first floor is the only ones allowed grills, which I wouldn't blame them these balcony's would light up in 5 seconds as they've never received any TLC. There is no on site maintenance- hasn't been since half way through our first year here.
