Oakwood Apartments

They do a great job of keeping the lawn mowed and trees trimmed. Also snow removal kept up when needed and cleared driveways. The apt is large, love the flooring in the dining room and kitchen. Heat is always on when needed.

The apartment building and unit itself is surprisingly nice and clean. For being 42 years old I was impressed with how well they look both inside and out. HOWEVER, my gf and I moved in on Tuesday night, woke up Wednesday morning to find my truck had been broken into and several thousand dollars of my tools had been stolen. I'm a former automotive technician of 16 years, but moved to the boat industry 2 years ago and am now a Marine service technician at a licensed Mercury Marine Dealership. I... also service tractors, trailers, zero-turns, and pretty much anything mechanical. Needless to say that my tools are my livelihood and are my sole means of producing an income to support myself and my family. Over the course of the last 20+ years I have built up quite a vast array of tools and worked hard to be able to purchase high quality tools such as Snap-on BluePoint and Milwaukee to name a few. I mention all of this because I want to make sure to convey just how devastated I was to come out to my truck to find somebody stole my HARD-EARNED means of supporting myself and family, and after not even 24 hours of living in my new place. Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease and cannot recommend these apartments to anyone, at least not until the neighborhood they are located in has had a thorough cleansing an rebirth. I do want to make clear that the apartments themselves are quite nice for their age, and that it's landlord and management are very polite and respectful. They deserve 4 out of 5 stars to be honest. But the neighborhood itself brings everything down to 1 out of 5 stars. It's a real shame that this is how my time at oakwood apartments has started out. Read More
