Poor management, communication, and record keeping
Apply here at your own risk. I originally applied here for a specific apartment on their website, paid the applicable fees and deposit and, since I have great credit, thought the process would be a piece of cake. However, after my money was processed I got a call saying that the apartment I applied for (that was listed as available on their website) was already being leased out, and because of this, I was pushed to rent a more expensive apartment that was available. Ultimately I declined and... expected to be reimbursed for both the deposit and application fees since the apartment I applied to (and paid those fees for) was never available in the first place so it seemed fair to me. Unfortunately for me, it seems that this complex leaves fake apartment listings up and preys on renters to pay non-refundable application fees for apartments that are never available in the first place in order to make a few extra bucks. Unless you want to pay $500 extra than what was originally promised for an available apartment then I would recommend keeping your $50-$100 for the application fees and finding a safer neighborhood. Also, keep track of everything. Because my apartment wasn't available there was a mix up with the fees. They ended up sending an incorrect sum to debt collections without taking a few minutes to see that it had already been resolved. Learn from my mistakes.
