Garfield Commons Apartments

This apartment complex was my finale choice after physically visiting 16 others. Keep in mind I had done my homework far in advance via the internet, Arizona Republic and networking through my own personal contacts. You see my qualifications were fairly specific. I was recovering from a several major head injuries and needed to be close to my medical team. Location was most important. I could not drive, I could not count on my insurance nor family to provide transportation. My condition had been... ongoing for almost twelve years so my funds were depleted. I was and still am unable to work in my trained profession. Due to my injuries and needed daily medication it was a requirement to stay in a Assisted Living Community for 18 months before living independently again. This was a great choice. It was right in between all of my doctors, neurologist, nutritionist dental staff and my highly used pharmacy. Most importantly on a major bus line. I could truly take care of myself. It is an historic building in Arizona, one of the original Catholic Schools in central Phoenix. The property had been purchased and completely restored. New everything from the ground up. I would be the first tenant in the apartment I selected. The 1st. It came with an onsite maintenance man and at the beginning excellent security. After being her for over two years I have witnessed some undesirable changes. I still do not care to leave though, it would be very tough for me to due so alone. From what I have been keeping track of the Phoenix area has it's population increase at a rate of 17,000 peoples per month. Competition would be intense fro me to do alone. We basically have been Cali-fornicated. I don't mind anybody seeing the beauty of Phoenix and it's wonderful weather and choosing live here. I was lucky, I was born here. I have by favorite spots for recreation and limited shopping I can afford on disability. My neighbors I have come to know are very good and private. In our society today you have to be very cautious. I will stay I believe and work to keep our property at it's best. I have always volunteered and been involved. It was the way my mother raised me.
