Do you're homework
Nice location but units get very hot in summer, no ac. 80-90 degree inside. Building does not get cleaned regularly, vacuum common areas maybe once a month. Termites, and a lot of people using public parking behind building to do bad things, urinate in bushes, drugs, etc. Don't judge book by its cover. Rents to now make tenants pay for all utilities plus pay prorated portion on top of you're pg&e for all common uses, common washers, water, hall lights, etc. this just changed as of new owner not... wanting to pay for anything. For the price you can find something bigger and nicer. Hope this helps...

Property Manager at The Maurice Apartments responded to this review
Thank you for your feedback. As the current owner and manager of the community, please allow us respond to your comments. The average high temperature in San Mateo is 63 degrees Fahrenheit. It seems very unusual for an apartment to reach 80 or 90... degrees, as mentioned here. The Maurice is fortunate to feature double pane windows and floor to ceiling doors – as it gets hot, we recommend our residents to allow for the breeze to cool their apartment down.
The community and common area hallways are contracted to be cleaned and maintained weekly. Additionally, the community is fortunate to have a resident manager on site, who can be contacted at any time to respond to our resident’s needs, including to tidy up the hallways.
The Maurice are conveniently located at the corner of El Camino Real and Burlingame Avenue. Adjacent to our west on the other side of the fence, there is a City of Burlingame managed, owned and patrolled parking lot. After understanding your concerns we can ask the City to do more to patrol that area, but overall Burlingame has one of the lowest crime rates in the Bay Area.
In addition to rent residents are responsible for their own utilities, which is not uncommon in our market. The apartments are individually metered for electricity with PGE. In addition, we ask the residents to pay their proportionate share of water, sewer and trash. Common area expenses are paid for by the owner.
Lastly, we have found in comparison to other communities that we own or have reviewed in the market, that The Maurice has apartments that are larger than average and very spacious.
