The good and bad of Carlsbad

Camelot Terrace Townhomes have been our home for the past four years. It's a two bedroom townhouse just outside of Carlsbad Village and my wife and I love it here....for the most part. As with many houses in Carlsbad Village, we are pressed right against the train tracks. In fact, our unit is the closest to the tracks, and the freight trains at night actually shake our bed. And since we're at the intersection at Tamarack Avenue, they also blast their horns right as they pass us. Between... this, and the excessive dirt that the train kicks up, covering our outdoor area that we spent so much time on, you can say that we're sick of trains! Now for the good. We have a two year old daughter, and there is no better place around to raise a child. Our neighborhood has a lot of great families and kids, and we love going outside every evening to watch the kids play together. These are great, two story units with plenty of space for our little family, and being two blocks from the beach is a great perk as well. Unfortunately, what was a great deal when we moved in here has turned into another expensive place to live by them having raised our rent three years in a row now. We hope that this trend stops so that we can continue living here with all of the great friends we have made.
