management sucks and rude

The apartments are decent, pest control is great. However, the management is the worst i have ever seen. They are just trying get as much as money as possible and give you a little bit information about everything, instead of helping to solve the problem they are just making it harder for you. I would say stay away from La Costa but if you were to rent from here, make sure to pay ur rent on time and aware of the 30 day notice process before moving out, make sure what to do and when to inform... them before moving out. Also in the unit i stayed, the doorway for the kitchen wasn’t big enough to even fit a regular sized fridge, it just crazy to me to not able to fit a regular sized fridge in the kitchen. I bet all of the apartments that have “satellite management” sucks in terms of the management.

NOT GOOD

Not even worth giving one star. There is nothing, only the market price, and the interior is not new.

Not safe and inconsiderate staffing

I lived at this complex for over a year and a half during my junior/senior years of college. Though it has been a few months since I moved out, I would advise people to not move here. For reference, I was also 20-21 and a woman.
The neighborhood is not safe. I had my car broken into and know that teens regularly broke into the pool area and left it trashed. I tried on multiple occasions to call security that is supposed to be patrolling, but they would inform me that they refused to do anything...
until their designated time (two to three hours after the office had closed). They would tell me to call the police instead.
Like any complex, some neighbors are nice and some are terrible. I always seemed to get the rowdy people above me and the office did nothing about it. I also had multiple packages stolen off my doorstep, which the office also refused to do anything about. However, I did catch them speaking to a man about a similar problem which they would "see to right away". When I asked what they could do to help me, they told me to use an amazon locker a mile away.
Today, I called them realizing that the company I worked for had not updated my address and had sent an important large envelope to my address at this complex. They told me that there was essentially nothing they could do about it due to them "having no control over the mail room". I will now never see that envelope because I lived near that mail room and know what happens when people receive mail that does not belong to them. It does not get sent back to the postal service, it is thrown in the garbage. I had witnessed it several times while doing my laundry.
This complex is unhelpful and unkind, especially if you are young and they think you are ignorant to how complexes should be run. If you are older and have no co-signer, they will always take your word over that of a college student, even if the student is in the right.
There are several other issues that occurred during my time at this complex that are too numerous to list, but all of which could have been solved if the leasing office had been even a little more attentive.

If you value your money DO NOT LEASE FROM HERE

Management does not show ANY care for their tenants. Based on false information given to me, from their employee, months before my lease expired, my unit was NOT eligible for the renewal I was told would be okay. Because of this they wanted to charge me 1/2 month rent for the timing. They do not own up to their own responsibilities. There is also constant construction work being done for the past 9 months, starting at 8:00am ON THE DOT every morning. You will be much better off finding... another place.

NEW STAFF, VERY FRIENDLY. QUIET AND I REALLY LOVE MY APARTMENT.

Very nice staff. The apartments are very big with two closets in each bedroom. this works since I have roommates. My guests can park inside when they visit. I really love it here. my neighbors are awesome.
