Get lucky in one of the back 3 units

If you like privacy, for the price it’s hard to beat my little studio I had in back of the main building. It was small, but if you can deal with that, here are some pros:
there are no neighbors above or below, there’s only one shared wall off the closet to the neighbors balcony. I never even knew if they were home or if anyone was even living there at all at times. I could play music pretty loud and no one could hear (I tested to confirm).
Managers come and go in this building but the new one...
Reína is very nice and responsive.
I had 2 heavvyyy front doors technically, my own private hallway where I could store my excess items. And I had 2 large balconies. Where you can see the observatory and it was perfect for keeping plants. However I didn’t feel they were private or comfortable to want to hang out on much.
My unit was close to the path of the outdoor exit, and also the trash area which was convenient but also had it cons.
The cons:
Jumping to the cons, on the down side, being close to the trash was pretty loud when the garbage was taken out, it was an adjustment to get used to. In the summer I could smell it with the windows open and it would bring dozens of flies into my place on occasion :!(
The balconies were so large but faced an active school so you’re not really trying to hang out there with your friends when everyone, young and old at the school walks by and can easily see you and the other side closely faces the main building. . Maybe you won’t mind but I did. I wish the space was better utilized towards a larger interior inside the apartment instead. At night there are bright spotlights that shine thru the curtains which also drove me nuts but could be fixed with better curtains.
Beware they have to fix the front intercom in the building and I don’t think they plan to. They just pretend it’s temp out of service. So that means things will rarely at all be delivered to your door. You’ll have to go and get it out front.
Overall I truly think my unit was a bit of a gem all things considering. A little dingy and small and dark but the pros are kind of hard to find.

Horrible place to live

I am currently living here for the past 3 months and I can honestly say I regret coming here. It’s hard to sleep at night as my neighbors upstairs can’t stop walking and yelling all night. I can’t sleep since I got here. If you hate sleep and don’t mind hearing your neighbors then this is the spot for you.

Nice Place to Live

The building is old but has been renovated, including electrical and plumbing. Price is comparable to other locations in the neighborhood. I enjoy the location, near many restaurants and night life. Near 2 subway stops and bus station. Hospital very close. Premises are kept clean and management are very nice. Only cons for me, no elevator can be a hassle when carrying groceries up. Also no parking is provided so can be difficult at certain times to find a spot.

Tenant

This apartment is clean and affordable and has a great location. Manger is fantastic, kind, available. Right off Hollywood Blvd, but mostly quiet area. Depending on your unit, the view can be amazing. No amenities in most units, but that doesn’t take away from its charm. The floor doesn’t creek, the walls block out neighbor noise, and the units have been modernized. Laundry in basement. Outside common area. Secured door (fob entry). Pet friendly. Parking (on street) is mostly decent. I’ve lived... here for over two years and I am very happy. For what it is, it’s excellent.
