Best apartments in Tehachapi

I have lived here for almost 3 years now. I came from the inland Empire and was not used to a small town at all. Sierra Ridge is by far the best community in Tehachapi. The apartments are secluded in a nice housing track that makes you feel safe. It is very quiet at night and also in the day. I feel very safe here raising my children and all the kids on the property are very nice and all play well together. The maintenance man Jose and manager Crystal, are extremely nice and helpful. They try to... really take care of their residents and their needs. The grounds are beautiful. I could of not found a nicer place to live. Please choose Sierra Ridge, you won't be disappointed.

To Both Other Posters an Sierra Ridge

Sierra Ridge has all the makings to be the best apt complex in this area. They have the location, swimming pool, curb appeal, safe neighborhood, lovely views, pet friendly. BUT corporate greed, poor inexperienced staff and structure deterioration override it all. First off, they had a decent, experienced reliable manager for a few years and she at least did what she could with what she had but one day she was gone and the staff that replaced her is shameful. The office is always closed, when... there is staff in there they are rude, inexperienced and totally inappropriately dressed wearing revealing clothing and soliciting dates. The wood structure is termite ridden and rotting, the pool was declared a public nuisance shut down and they removed all the lounge furniture so you either bring your own or lay on concrete. The rent is constantly increasing. The mailbox are falling down and cant open them rusted locks. There are kids running everywhere unsupervised, pets off leashes an pet waste everywhere, AND YES WATER INTRUSION! my apt is collapsing with mold from water damage that never gets fixed. NO STARS....get it together Sierra Ridge

To the other poster

Hey as far as the rent...they have a drop box for weekends to drop off rent right? And I found the office and maintenance really helpful.

Needs work

Sierra Ridge has had a lot of management issues. These are older apartments and have not been very well maintained over the years. A lot of the units use to leak when it rained. And some still do. The patio decks have never been taken care of and if you live on the 2nd story you can not go out side barefooted with out fear of getting wood slivers in your foot. The wood is very much weather rotted.
On some units the siding has pulled away from the wall enough to allow rain to seep into the walls...
.
Some units have been addressed but with not being able to keep a maintenance man at the complex these units are slowly falling apart. And the corporate office keeps raising the rent. Rent is due on the 1st and late by the 3rd. After, you are charged a late fee. And it doesn't matter when you get paid. One day the 1st fell on a Friday. But it snowed and no one was able to make it to the office to open. The second fell on a Saturday and 3rd on a Sunday. They are not open Saturday and Sunday so you are not able to go in to pay. And Monday anyone that has not paid is now late and must pay a late fee.
The corporate office only cares about making money and does not want to put much into these apartments. It is a nice and quiet place but with a lot of headaches with management. And with the rent increases every six months it's getting old and expensive for renting in that area.
There are houses that can be rented for the same price with three bedrooms and a garage. Or apartments in golden hills and other areas for half the price.
If I could give them no stars I would.
