About 2112 Stuart St House
Large master bedroom available now with the option to rent the whole house starting October 1st. Copious natural light, including skylight, and a view to the mountains in a 1,500 square-foot, family-sized house. The house is usually shared with one... or two other people. This room is more than twice the size of the other two bedrooms. It has two large closets and its own private bathroom.
Garage parking for one vehicle with remote-controlled, overhead door is included in the price. Extra parking is available on the street. Shared kitchen. Shared washer and dryer (but hanging clothing outside to dry is preferred). Super fast, reliable, Nextlight internet. Central heating and air conditioning (rarely used).
Beautiful back porch for nature-lovers. Lots of natural light downstairs, too, with skylights and a bay window in the kitchen. We mostly xeriscape to save water. There are huge vegetable gardens with rich, healthy soil. Snow peas, Swiss chard, carrots, rhubarb, raspberries, cherries, beets, lots of different flowers, strawberries, squash, beans, zucchini, potatoes, watermelon, and many other vegetables and flowers grown over the years. This season, strawberries, canola, grapes (fingers crossed), Nanjing cherries, and beets are underway. More will be started when it gets warmer. Perfect for gardeners. There's room if you want to plant your own veggies or flowers. Large amounts of compost added to soil regularly over the past several years. No fertilizers, pesticides, or any other chemicals of any kind anywhere on the property. Lots of songbirds, hummingbirds, and squirrels.
During periods of absence, rent is reduced by 50% and utilities are not billed. A $100/mo discount is available for foreign students, professional musicians, credit scores over 750, or anyone who works for the direct benefit of nature/wildlife. We're less than one block from the bus that goes directly to the University of Colorado in Boulder. Month-to-month contract to start. Utilities split evenly. Pets are allowed, but no smoking, please. Quiet time in the house is from 10pm to 6am.
Owner is 48 and spends most of his time gardening or walking nearby Lake McIntosh while listening to recorded books, reading Spanish, Thai, or Chinese, or bicycle touring and camping in countries where those languages are spoken. Current housemate is a wildlife photographer in his 70s whose works adorn the walls of the house. Owner's son is going off to music college in the fall.
We're looking for a conscientious housemate (or couple) to take the master bedroom. Any age is fine. Respect for nature and wildlife is very important. As a rule, we leave the windows open whenever weather permits to be closer to nature. Everything that can be composted or recycled is, so we generate very little trash.
