RUN
Let's start with the good:
The Brandywine is located in a nice area which is close to grocery stores, pharmacies and public transportation as well as UDC and AU. The apartments are spacious. This unfortunately concludes the good portion.
Now for the bad:
The building is not properly maintained, it has dirty/stained hallways, the laundry room is usually covered in dryer lint, dryer sheets, hampers and bags laying around, washers and dryers filled with clothes that have long since been... done but never collected, there is also a fun mold to deal with that appears from the vents in both the kitchen and bathroom. The trash chute frequently greets you with the horrific smell of one that hasn't been cleaned in YEARS and the large roaches that wave high to you when you open the door are always fun. You also get to see the vermin sometimes when you take your recycles to the garage dumpster they go in. Only 2 of the 4 entrance / exit doors are available 24/7 and there is now a security guard always on site "to make the building safer" which makes you question why you're "not safe". The garage doors frequently fail leaving easy access to your vehicle. If all that isn't fun enough, you also get the amazing (note sarcasm) management team. The community manager is non-responsive at best, he doesn't respond to emails, phone calls and if he says "Let me get back to you" just understand you'll never hear from him. The leasing office staff, they simply can't be bothered, they're quicker to tell you what they won't do and in fact that's their first response before you finish your question / statement. If you call and ask for the leasing office you'll 9 times out of 10 be told by the front desk they are busy with another resident, however, if you immediately goto the leasing office you'll find them sitting in there shooting the bull with each other and the security officer without a resident in sight or a phone in use, I've actually called from outside the leasing office just to hear them say they were busy but no one doing any work. If you take nothing else to heart out of this, just understand that once you sign the lease, the management team could care less about your existence and if you ask them a question, you are bothering them.
