Explosion of Roaches

I've been living here for many years and there have been good years and bad years. This is very much a bad year. Over the past 3 months there has been a massive influx of roaches throughout the building, more than ever before, and management has failed to do even the most basic extermination. Patchwork spraying of random units only moves the roaches to untreated units. Yet management is unwilling to do the hard work of treating the entire building. Complaints will be filed.

We are sorry you experienced service related issues. We have a robust pest control program in place which focuses on individual residents concerns and also treats all common areas and apartments floor by floor on a rotating basis. We have and will... continue to invest in the community, looking for ways to further improve. Please contact Travis Williams, Regional Manager at 202-363-2255 so we can discuss this issue further.

Would Recommend

I have no complaints about Connecticut House at all. I love my apartment, and the whole building is maintained very well. All the staff I've interacted with has been very friendly and helpful. Best part of its all has to be the location.

Great apartment

This isn't a very frilly apartment but I've loved it so far! The front desk is always so helpful and it's manned 24/7 so I always feel super safe. The price is just right and it's so close to everything I want to do in the city!

Van Ness - The Connecticut House is comfy but not pricey luxury living

This building is a hidden gem on Connecticut Ave -- it's near the metro, shops, and services, but this part of the Van Ness neighborhood is quiet, safe, and plenty of parking. Rents are somewhat lower in this building because there aren't luxury amenities.

Pros: nice views, friendly staff, hardwood (parquet) floors, basement storage, small roof deck, utilities included in rent.

Cons: the building is dated (1950s), including the fixtures, doors, cabinets, elevators. Nothing is modern...
.

Overall, I'd recommend this cozy but charmingly outdated building.

No-frills, but worth it!

I moved into this apartment straight out of college and I couldn't have asked for a greater place to start my "city life." The neighborhood is quiet, with a few good restaurants, a Gold's Gym, CVS & Walgreens, and Giant grocery store all within a few blocks. The Van Ness Metro station is just 4 blocks away, which makes for a seamless commute to work or fun downtown. The building itself is fairly old and the lobby decor is outdated, but its always clean and the staff treats you like family. It's... a no-frills apartment building, so you won't find any luxurious amenities (e.g., no pool, grills, or chaise lounges on the rooftop), but with utilities all included, you just can't beat the price!
