The Regents is the Luxury of Scottsdale

The Regents offers large spacious floor plans with different choices to pick for what you need. The staff is always accommodating and friendly. They have large closets, bathrooms and the largest kitchen I've seen in an apartment complex. They have two large pools with hot tubs and a large gym. No need to have a gym membership once you move in here! The Regents is also in the perfect location, right behind the apartment complex offers a dog park, volley ball court, basketball court, walking path... and multiple playgrounds. It is close to shopping centers, multiple grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants/ bars. This place is perfect if you have a family or if you are single! My friend moved in to The Regents two months after I did and we both love it here!

The Regents of Scottsdale – Better Frosting than Cake

Frosting -- from the outside, The Regents is very desirable. Beautiful grounds, convenient location (freeway & lots of shopping/dining), nice-looking units, covered parking, 2 pools, exercise room, helpful staff, etc.

Cake -- but from the inside, there are several key problems.

(1) Parking: the parking is insufficient (may have to park 100-300-500 feet away from your unit).

(2) Noise: the building’s construction seems to be cheap because you can hear lots of noise from your neighbors...
(appliances, bathroom fans, hard-walking). There are 5-6 of loud cars/motorcycles too, which can wake you up anytime from midnight to 6 a.m.

(3) Hidden Dirt: while everything on the ground floor is always clean, the second & third floor walkways are only cleaned every 3-4 months (out of sight, out of mind).

(4) High Extra Costs: besides your $900-$1400/month rent, you’ll also pay a $50-55/month Utility Bill (for water, sewer, trash, gas, building fee, admin fee and sales tax – it’s like you’re a homeowner). Plus, you’ll also pay $25/month for Valet Waste (it’s non-optional and VW shares revenue with the apartment owners). Finally, you’ll also pay roughly $60 to $250/month for electricity (with thermostat set to 78/summer, 68/winter). This is high and probably means the units are poorly insulated. So, in addition to your rent ($900-$1,400), your extra average monthly cost is about $200 more.

The net result: If you like frosting more than cake, you might like The Regents. But for me, I want good cake too -- so when my lease is up, I’m choosing one of the many other apartments in the 85260 zip code area. Happy Home Hunting to You.

quiet and nice

I have enjoyed living at Regents of Scottsdale.

It's a beautiful neighborhood and property. The staff is quite friendly and helpful.

I recommend the place for a quality home.
