We have been living here the past 3/4 months and have not been impressed. Items in our apartment were broken upon move in-to name a few, the fridge was broken, missing screen door, problems with kitchen faucet. Although these items were eventually fixed, the apartment building should have done a thorough check to make sure things were in order before we moved in. It really is a inconvenience when the fridge is not working and the emergency maintenance numbers they provide are not for the... building you live in. Apartment has very cheap materials so definitely do not expect high end appliances. Cabinets were very worn upon move in, very dated washer and dryer, bottom of the line dishwasher and sink combo. You can hear noise from the neighbors above and below you, floors are not well insulated. We can hear the person walking around all day and can hear their TV going at night despite there being quiet hours after 10:00 PM. Something has always seemed to be broken in this apartment building, elevators are always out of order, the parking garage gate was out of operation for over a month, emergency water shut off's. Residents keep parking in visitor parking, making it very hard for visitors to actually find a spot to park there car when visiting and the Carlyle does not do anything about it. I have seen the same cars day in and and day out park in visitor parking spots when they have an actual assigned parking spot but is too lazy to go through the gate to get to the parking spot. They really need to enforce this more and either ticket or tow the cars that do this. People leave so much random crap laying around in the garage and the building does not enforce that people clean it up or just throw it away, it just looks tacky and low class. All utilities are shared, which is BS and it is allocated based on your unit size and number of individuals living in the unit. We do not turn on heat, but heat is through gas- so we are basically paying for other peoples utilities which is absolute BS. We CANNOT WAIT until our lease is up so we can move out. Avoid this place at all costs!
