Reality Check - San Diego has more to offer in "luxury" than Mode can offer
Just wanted to share some thoughts about Mode Apartments – you know, the good, the bad, and the straight-up real.
When you take a tour of Mode Apartments, they dangle carrots in front of you to get you to bite – amenities, community events, technology and other perks. But the truth is, the hype doesn't match the reality. Amenities are often out of order or broken for multiple months without any update from management.
In truth, Mode's management team is probably one of the worst experiences in... the building. The management isn't proactive and waits for issues to arise before doing anything. I don't know what kind of "luxury living" management neglects residents' requests and concerns as much as Mode's. Yet this same management threatens to tow residents' cars if they park in the wrong spots - completely ignoring the fact that the building's garage barely works correctly.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the building's retention rate is less than 50% which is terrible for a new-build. More than half of the residents have moved out after their lease or broken their lease. What's worse is that management had the gull to RAISE RENT 5% for all units. The building is a complete mess shortly after a fire that flooded all floors, and yet management believes it's entitled to even more compensation. Absolutely mind blowing.
Don't be hypnotized by your building tour. Talk to the actual residents. I have not met a single resident in the building (including myself) that feels they're getting their money's worth in this building. Keep looking.
