Leased a Flea-Infested Apartment — ZERO Accountability from Management
Within the first two days of moving in, we were being bitten by pests. On our first night sleeping in the unit, we discovered it was infested with fleas. A neighbor confirmed the previous tenants had pets, yet the leasing office never treated the unit.
It took four days to get an exterminator because management refused to use an emergency vendor. My roommate has over 40 bites and needs urgent medical care for swelling and pain. I have more than 50 bites. We’ve been staying with friends because... the apartment is uninhabitable.
On August 13, management finally arranged extermination. The pest control tech performed only a cursory inspection lasting less than five minutes, claimed there were no fleas, and left. Three days later, I am still finding fleas hopping around my apartment.
Management refuses to take responsibility or refund rent. We’re contacting corporate, the health department, the BBB, and pursuing legal action. This place is a health hazard, and management doesn’t care.
